No seriously I just have to ask how much interest could breeders possibly have in Independence Hall that warrants retiring him just when they may have found his sweet spot? If breeders can't afford Tiz the Law or Constitution, idk, maybe another Tapit son or grandson?

I guess we can thank him for keeping OTTB rescues busy while we're at it.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 6:24 pmSupposedly a tweet from Elliot Walden today said his book could be full by MondayMylute wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 10:27 pm Coming to a Korean (or Turkish) stud farm near you in 2025!

Wow, 3 Breeders Cup winners for Dubawi this weekend. That's got to be a record for one Breeder's Cup meet.

I think I remember that Smart Strike got his three GI winners on BC preview day in New York. Fabulous Strike in the (then) GI Vosburgh, English Channel in the GI Hirsch, and Curlin in the GI JCGC.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 8:12 pmHe had 2 in 2007 - Curlin and English ChannelPlanetRock wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 8:07 pmI think maybe it is equaled by Smart Strike.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 7:58 pm Wow, 3 Breeders Cup winners for Dubawi this weekend. The busiest stallion in Britain and Ireland in 2021 was... Affinisea with 324 mares. Who is that? A maiden winner who raced 2 times. Based on his pedigree by Sea The Stars out of Affianced, he is a 1/2 brother to top National Hunt stallion Soldier of Fortune, and that they think he should be a good National Hunt Sire.
Order of St George - 312
Maxios - 309
Crystal Ocean - 302
Mehmas takes the 5th spot and is the first flat only mare sire. He covered 292 mares.
Kodiac with 239 mares was the only other flat stallion to break the 200 mare mark.
Lots of information in the article. Including some stallions who had big improvements in mare numbers and some highlights from Frankel's book.
There is another article from September that highlighted mares in some other stallions books, including Wootton Bassett.

On Taylor Made website, it states that BC was Knicks Go FINAL race. So…does this mean he’s retired? honesty KG has nothing left to prove. Wouldn’t it hurt his HOY chances if he lost at Pegasus or LIG? What does everyone think his starting stud fee will be? $25k?

Eclipse voting will be done and dusted before the Pegasus, even though the ceremony is after.PersonalE wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:13 amOn Taylor Made website, it states that BC was Knicks Go FINAL race. Looking forward to showing him off to breeders later this week!

I think $25K is pretty reasonable. Honestly I would expect it to be higher.
They introduced Chrome at $40K IIRC.

Cox and owner says will likely run in Pegasus and will return to his barn at Churchill in a week after being shown to breeders. Seems to be a disconnect in communication between the farm and the owner/ trainer.HB1994 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:34 amThey tweeted this a few minutes ago:PersonalE wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:13 amOn Taylor Made website, it states that BC was Knicks Go FINAL race. Think both are a little too high. Release from Darley:
“Champion two-year-old and G1 Belmont Stakes winner Essential Quality will stand the 2022 season at a fee of $75,000 while G1 Breeders’ Futurity winner Maxfield’s fee will be set at $40,000. “

Uhhh yeah definitely.
You could pay $25K to breed to a HOTY (Knicks Go) OR you could pay $40K to a horse that never won a single G1.
Granted KG's pedigree isn't as fashionable as Maxfield's but I digress.

Maxfield is a G1SW but that price is way way too high, he won Keeneland's Breeders Futurity(G1) at 2.
I could see Essential Quality being that high. He was champion 2yo and showed he could still win most of his races at 3. Authentic went to stud for the same fee in 2021. I should add that I still think its very high.

I haven't followed KG much, but I don't think he's had problems staying sound? Or am I wrong?
