So has the track been fair today? Like I said I honestly forgot because I was out all day. Kicking myself.

Do we think Marche Lorraine will stay stateside a little longer?

Respect to Charles Appleby. His horses all ran brilliantly if they got a chance to run. Fantastic training job and one helluva a weekend. If it wasn't recorded nobody would believe it.

Seems to be, horses are hitting the board with a variety of running styles.

What IS the record for an individual owner in number of BC races won in one year? Godolphin now has three for this year, and has the opening favorite for the Classic coming up. I know there's all those massive partnerships out there where members move in and out amongst themselves, but an individual owner must be pretty hard-pressed to win three in one running.

Just curious.

Here's a question for the Classic -- how much does the pace meltdown in the Distaff get in the jocks heads and how might that affect tactics in the opposite direction?

If the Distaff told us anything, Baffert told his rider to run as fast as they can to burn the other speed.

Speaking of records, I believe that's a record as Dubawi has sired 3 winners this weekend.... all chestnuts owned by Goldolphin.
Smart Strike had two winners in 2007, More Than Ready sired a pair on two occassions as did Awesome Again, City Zip, etc.

Its a hard question to answer, simply because it was ran with less races and used to be only one day. There are definitely a handful of owners that won 2 races in a day. I don't know if there are any that won 3 in one day and if you add in the 2 days, I think Godolphin may already be the first owner to have 3 winners in a year but I would actually have to go look because I can't remember some winners.

Yeah I think this is Dubawi's record. There are quite a few that had 2 winners. Add Into Mischief, Sadlers Well, Mizzen Mast, Nureyev, Cox's Ridge, Kris S. Medaglia d'Oro, pretty sure there are more. Strawberry Road maybe?(I looked his winners weren't the same year).

Turns out I was reading the numbers on the doubles wrong, whoops. Essential Quality very clearly favored there and here, moreso than expected. Hot Rod Charlie also taking a ton of money.

I don't even know anymore- a meltdown or a carousel, neither would be surprising at this point. Kind of expecting Tripoli to win because it would be the single most heartbreaking outcome for me after the Dunbar Road beat...

Essential Quality looks real calm and his jock just petted him and moved his mane away from his face <3

Lava Man, leading Hot rod, looks very excited, even lathered. He's remembering the feeling of getting into the gate.

Wow, I'm surprised he was able to do that on the front end and that time. He wins HOTY no doubt.

Yep, jockeys reacted to that Distaff. Horse was best, though- just stretched them out across that track.

Essential Quality, as always, ran a really great race too.
