I want to give credit for mixing things up and trying to lay closer, but the word I'm landing on here is "bad."

It looked like Commandperformance got bumped on the first turn.

He was carried wide by the honor guard, yeah. The jockeys have to anticipate that and commit before the turn, though. Can't just get stuck halfway like he did.

Maybe I missed it, but did they mention that Coinage’s dam (Bar of Gold) was a BC winner?

Albahr just completely flipped in the starting gate, I mean he went completely over.

How on earth did he manage to turn around in there  The replay was terrifying, but at least he looks okay walking off.

Hope the gate guy is okay as well.

I have no idea but he just went up and over and fell and then his back legs were sticking out from under the front of the gate.

Do they vet check the horses closest to him to make sure they weren't injured by a kick? A horse under the gate is freaking out.

He hooked his front legs on the front of the gate, and then in the struggle to get free, when he released, it flipped him over, and then his hinds were in front of the gate while he was on his back  Gads, glad it didn't spread to the other horses. Not sure if the #1 went through the gate, or they let him out. And now assistant starter is injured..............

They just said the assistant starter had to be taken by an ambulance to the hospital. The race has to be delayed until another ambulance returns.

Guess that answers my question. I'd rather they be safe than sorry.

Rough for Godolphin, both their horses scratched.
