I’m rooting for Oviatt Class - would be so nice to see him win for Bernardini

Yeah, he's absolutely gorgeous. Oviatt Class is pretty too, 8-1 is wildly too low though.

I can't get over how tiny Jasper Great is. He's like, half the size of his sire.

I love the pinto draft lead pony!

Wow, what a thriller. That should get what, an 87 beyer?

Yeah, Donna's big B&W pinto on-track mount is giving me Harley vibes.
Mike Smith schooled them, getting Corniche to the front and then letting him relax...while still running faster than the rest. Front end win, but many miles of rider experience made the difference, IMHO.

I watched California Angel on the far turn. She went to close but then immediately got blocked by two others.
She took a hard hit from the 2 on the first turn and had to check at another point (Kent strikes again). Looking forward to seeing her run again.

But that ride on the winner................. and Clemente to boot. :D
I saw that too; the racing gods just didn't favor her today.

I am rooting for him too because of Arrogate. He sure looks tiny though.
Slow start

How dare you. I've always been a strong advocate for- what's his name- oh yes, Pappacap.

I hope Jasper Great enjoyed his trip around the track! He's definitely coming home with the vaunted "cutest tiny horse" prize today :D

Soooo… will the owners take Corniche away and give to another trainer so can run in KD?

Played out just like I thought...he’s really not that fast, but CA pundits and Baffert fans will rhapsodize about him. He’s very nice, but he doesn’t look like one that really wants to run long.

I think the general strategy of the ultra-rich would be "ignore the rules and then endlessly drain money into litigation," but that's probably the eventual outcome.

Honestly though, not to be unkind right after a win but I don't think it'll be relevant in a few months. The horse is not fast.

I think they have to be happy with how she ran, staying with the best in her class.
