Is this the smallest field ever for this race?

I'd be surprised if there's ever been a shorter field. Even Songbird's year had 10 runners.
Looks like Ain't Easy got hurt, but is everyone else really that scared of Echo Zulu? She's really not head-and-shoulders over the rest of them here, and two turns is still a question mark.

Personally I'm not sure if Jackie's Warrior is a lock. There are a few in there I think are capable of turning the tables, like Dr. Schivel, who is undefeated at DMR.
I'd throw some dollars on Snapper Sinclair in the Dirt Mile. LIG basically got a paid gallop last out.
Gamine probably gets another paid championship.
This will be Letruska's biggest test. I'm not so sure she's a lock. Gonna go with my longshot Oaks pick of 2020, SDTD.
The Classic? God knows.

i wanna stay w letruska, but she's had a serious year and that work... oof. still hoping she pulls it off, i remember when cathryn sophia ran 3rd in her final before the oaks, and a LOT of ppl immediately tossed her. i didn't, and after feeling really ashamed of it to the point where i didn't even want to watch the race out of nerves... man was i glad i tuned in anyway.
hopefully letruska pulls that same move and takes this regardless of all the variables. no one is ready to come running w excuses faster than i am tho, lol.
also, HRC for the classic... but please. PLEASE. don't run like you've been in the fermented apple barrel

Not sure where to put this (Runs Like A Girl or here), but since it's about the Breeders Cup...here's a video of California Angel on her first gallop around Del Mar. It includes the TVG commentators discussion:

You are so welcome. Did you notice her rider working on her lead changes? She's still a little green when it comes to lead changes. Also, her trainer said she's going through a growth spurt now. Otherwise she's as professional as they come for a 2-yr-old filly. Angel and her trainer, George Leonard III, are quite the story. This filly has a genuine chance to win although it won't be easy, and even if she doesn't, she has the talent to win a lot of races for her owners and trainer. If she stays sound, maybe she'll come back to the BC next year, bigger, stronger and then, who knows...luvsgeldings wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 10:42 am Ridan.... thank you so much for posting that video of California Angel's romp around the del mar track - i enjoyed seeing it very much - such a lovely filly - beautiful mover - she is wonderful to watch - i am a huge fan of this filly - - thank you again for putting the video link up.... you made my day - wishing you a happy one too!!

Anyone know who the loose horse was this morning at Del Mar?
TVG was on air when the warning buzzer started sounding and I never heard them mention a name.

Judging from ROUGIR's rider's expression through a series of bucks, this is something he's familiar/comfortable with.
ROUGIR kept going about her business, settling down while training for the @BreedersCup Filly and Mare Turf.
The Cedric Rossi trainee is morning-line 6-1.

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

True, but with the unwelcome addition of Rudy Rodriguez.

Two big scratches from the Turf: Domestic Spending (left front ankle) and United (slight suspensory swelling).
Bolshoi Ballet and Channel Maker now draw in.

Well, sh*t. I like both these dudes and was excited to see DS explode off the turn.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 12:32 pm Two big scratches from the Turf: Domestic Spending (left front ankle) and United (slight suspensory swelling).

There may be a more conscientious mindset now; even small problems motivate connections to scratch. Plus the increased BC vet scrutiny may bring even borderline issues to light.
I've always thought it was the weeks leading up to the Derby that has seen a lot of late defections.
