Marche Lorraine(JPN) arrived at Del Mar.

The 5yo daughter of Orfevre(JPN) is going to be the first Japanese horse to run in the BC Distaff and must be the first starter in the US for her sire.
She is a 4-time listed winner in Japan.

I don't think that Tex Sutton loosing access to the aircraft was a supply chain problem.
BC is working with FedEx (who has flown horses in the past) to help fulfill transportation needs for primarily IIRC the Win and You're In horses as well as other horses.
When Tex Sutton was flying horses, he could afford to be more flexible with who could fly with the horses. Because FedEx is flying the horses, they get to say who is allowed to be on the flight. FedEx is also a bit more limited with departure locations and times, I think there are two cities at least in the US that horses can leave from rather than when Tex Sutton was able to fly the horses and had more flexibility with departure cities and dates/times.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

On a media teleconference, Aidan O'Brien informs that Order of Australia had a setback this morning and is out of BreedersCup. He won Mile last year and was pre-entered in race this year.

Order of Australia had a fracture, and has already had a pin inserted. Off to stud now. His record this year wasn't impressive, but his pedigree sure is.

How often is it that there are more final entries than pre-entries? How does that work?

I was a bit shocked to see Michele Yu's photo right in the middle of the 'talent' line-up.
I didn't think TVG would ever hire her back.

Well crap, again...on TVG, Larry Colmus has just passed on the info that Trevor Denman injured his back on his farm in Minnesota and will not be able to call either the BC or the rest of the Del Mar meet. Larry will step into that role. I like Colmus, but Trevor will be missed by many.
Get well fast, Trevor..

Just saw that about Trevor Denman. I really like Larry Colmus but I REALLY like Trevor Denman. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.
As for Michelle Yu... I must have missed her on her first pass at TVG. I think she's a 'fill in' as this morning when TVG was listing their Breakfast segment they sounded like Michelle was not a permanent TVG... Michelle may be filling in for Brittney Eurton who is probably doing the NBC coverage. Brittney still does TVG but also NBC. Good gig for her.

Ms. Yu was let go 'for cause'...several causes, IIRC...about a decade ago. I didn't think that TVG corporate would rehire anyone under those circumstances, even to just 'fill in.'
