He is listed as Private on their webpage still. But maybe they are going to pension him like they did Parading and Data Link and just haven't announced that yet? Breeders were never keen on him, I think his max book his first 2 years at stud was in the low 40s and then 2019/2020 he got low 20s. Because of those low books he has only sired one SW in Helium. He hasn't had many winners either.

Runhappy isn't looking so bad either, although I haven't checked his foals to runners/winners. But he's definitely improving.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Some stallions start off slowly at stud while others hit right away. Maybe Runhappy is one of the former?

Claiborne’s fees seem pretty spot on.
I think war front is more appropriately priced, now with the dominance of Into mischief & WF’s lack of domestic G1 winners this year.
Performer seems to be overpriced. Why pay $12,500 for him when you can pay &10,000 for Mastery?

In the case of Mastery, I would say it's because he was well-supported and popular, but his runners haven't been too exciting so far.PersonalE wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 1:24 pmClaiborne’s fees seem pretty spot on.

I hope Catholic Boy does well, and of course War of Will (who apparently got the biggest book). I like them because they did well on both surfaces and I think that's very valuable in the gene pool.
WoW won a Triple Crown Classic and then won a G1 on turf as a four year old. I think he is the only one to have done this (in recent memory). This puts him in similar territory to Chrome and Secretariat, who both won all or multiple Triple Crown races and then later a G1 on turf that same year.
And of course Catholic Boy is also similar to these three, as he won the Travers (a non-TC Classic) and the G1 Belmont Derby at three.

Mohaymen To Remain At Shadwell’s Kentucky Farm In 2022

This is weird to me. Was there any question of him being exported? What?

Maybe they phrased it like that because the other 2 active stallions who were at Shadwell are relocating?Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:23 pm Mohaymen To Remain At Shadwell’s Kentucky Farm In 2022

Bloodhorse has a better article about the Shadwell stallions, its weird how Paulick Report chose to write the article:

x10000. I also don't think they're doing Justify any favors with such a high initial stud fee. See: Ghostzapper
I feel like Mendelssohn will get a better chance just because breeders won't fear losing ROI at his lower stud fee too. Not to mention, that pedigree is compelling

Caravaggio(USA)(Scat Daddy) sired his first winner in Japan, as his 2yo colt Aguri(JPN)[o/o Old Time Waltz(USA) by War Front(USA)] broke his maiden in style at second ask in Tokyo 3R 1600m turf on Oct 23rd 2021.
Aguri's second dam Together(IRE) won the G1 QE II Challenge Cup in 2011.

Does that leave mohayman as the only Shadwell stallion remaining in Kentucky?Flanders wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 7:20 pm Bloodhorse has a better article about the Shadwell stallions, its weird how Paulick Report chose to write the article:
