You know MRH is part owner of Three Jewels?
I noticed the two horses destined for Woodbine are now gone... either withdrew or sold out (and not sure there would be any info yet in SEC documentation to indicate if the shares were withdrawn).
I also know if there is a horse with available shares and they need to back off on the horse for some extended rehab, shares will be withdrawn for dale but anyone who owns shares will continue to get updates.
Three this weekend that I know about...
Saturday, Keeneland Race 11, MSW @ 1 1/16 miles; Lookwhogotlucky
Sunday, Belmont Race 1, MSW @ 1 mile on the turf; Provocateur
Sunday, Keeneland Race 6, Allowance @ 1 1/8 miles on the turf; Social Dilemma

They did buy him, but I know Dixiana bought half of him back. Still hoping there’s a chance he’ll be availableWheresMyWhite wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 9:58 pm You know MRH is part owner of Three Jewels?

Lookwhogotlucky was dead last(9)-no news so far on performance
Provocateur was 8th on his debut
Social Dilemma was 9th out of 12 in a allowance-chart notes no bid

Moonlight d’Oro worked six furlongs in 1:15 this morning at Santa Anita Park. Breezing on the outside of stablemate, Hot Tea, our 3-year-old filly did not quite work as well as expected.
Moonlight d’Oro tracked off the hip of Hot Tea down the backstretch but was not able to quicken upon asking from her exercise rider, Nestor.
“She got a little tired again today. After last week's work, I was expecting better. Physically she looks fine. We will pull a blood chemistry panel in the morning,” said trainer Richard Mandella.
Second work that went like this. Doesn’t sound good, any speculation?

Joyful Addiction recovering from a small infection. Currently trained by Al Stall Jr. with a ideal debut at end of the year.
No further news on Moonlight d'oro. I wonder if it's a breathing problem? She gets 5F just fine, it's 6F that does her in when it never used to....Richard Mandella found she has some slight back soreness, so will get a few light days to see if things improve. Personally, I think that's a bit optimistic.
Lady Valentine finished 9th in a 7F MSW at Belmont. Chart notes she went wide and then didn't go further. Per feed, this race was a head scratcher, so diagnostics tomorrow.
Daddy's Joy finished 4th in a 5F Claiming at Gulfstream 10/16
Escape Route (Edge Racing) finished 2nd in a 7F AOC at Santa Anita on 10/16

Star Six Nine is going to be looking for a permanent home, 'cause he's a wobbler.
Just a baby 2 year old, never got to the races.

Your friend might be being a bit optimistic. In the latest update from MRH they included a short video showing Star Six Nine in his lovely grass paddock. As he turns around, you can see what appeared to me to be coordination problems with his hind end. Sounds like MRH is going to try to get insurance to cover but not sure how that will work as the Offering said Mortality Insurance. They are going to watch him for the next 60 days IIRC to see if he improves or regresses.
Wobblers is rough. I sure wouldn't buy a horse that had been diagnosed with this.

No one bought into him AFTER diagnosis. Shares weren't even available by then, as the offering closed while he was at Silver Springs training center. I know 'cause I bought into him, too. He didn't start showing the signs until he was moved to Asmussen's barn at Turfway Park a few weeks ago.WheresMyWhite wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 6:29 pmYour friend might be being a bit optimistic. The 60 day thing is for the shareholders to expect any final money from post-retirement dissolution of the LLC. The observation of his condition and placement will take longer than that and be all on MRH, as there's no partner like Spendthrift to be part of the decision making in his case. With the fact that many aftercare places aren't willing or able to handle horses they can't adopt out, particularly that will be long term residents, I'm not optimistic that he won't be put down in the end.

So I don’t know much about Wobbler’s beyond the general fact that it’s a neurological disorder. I see online there is a lot about “aggressive treatment”. Is that not an option? Is it completely detrimental in racehorses? I also see online some horses can still be ridden but others can’t. Do they think he will continue to degenerate? I recall there was some talk about War of Will having stringhalt. Any relation/genetic factors for either?
Also is how severe is Star Six Nine’s Wobbler?

Well, obviously they don't think he's viable as a racehorse. It will be interesting to see what platforms like MyRacehorse do with the obvious fails. One would like to think that the overpriced buy-in would cover aftercare, but who knows. And I'm not criticizing the business model of MyRacehorse, but they need to think it through.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

The shareholders have not been told how severe or how treatable Star Six Nine's wobblers is. In the one video I have seen (posted by MRH), he is uncoordinated in the hind end when turning around in the field he's turned out in. It sounds to me, reading between the lines, that the wobblers is severe enough that it is likely he will never be a riding horse again (their words, not mine).
For the moment, he's at a farm in KY getting daily turnout with an evaluation in 60 days to see if he is improving or regressing.
I believe MRH is beginning the process of closing out this series (partnership) from a financial perspective. What will happen to Star Six Nine will depend, in part, if he improves or regresses. Once the series is closed out, we, former owners, may never know what happens to Star Six Nine.
FWIW, the "overpriced" buy-in does not, IIRC, cover aftercare. The Offering discloses the series finances and one can chose to invest or not.
I don't know if MRH contributes to any of the large aftercare organizations with their share of any profits. It would be nice if they would as, very true, not every horse is Authentic with a potential large residual value when the series is closed out. I don't think Star Six Nine is a 'fail'. A 'fail' would still be a good aftercare candidate for a new career.
The challenge is that he likely isn't a candidate for 'aftercare' and training for a new career. Most the MRH horses can be retired into a new career; maybe including a period of rehab if an on track injury requires R&R. I personally would rather Star Six Nine be put down than worry about what might happen to him down the road with his limitations.

The thing with Wobblers in a full size horse is that its a thousand pound animal that doesn't have complete control of their hind end. Its not like Wobblers in large dogs or even mini horses where they can be easily steadied and picked up if they stumble or fall (and dogs can lay down for long periods) - a thousand pound horse is likely to seriously injure or kill himself or someone else in less than a second and would need a crane or other machinery to be stood back up. So they cannot run and play or be housed with other horses, which is a deterioration in quality of life especially for a youngster. Star Six Nine deteriorated in a month to moderate instability at the WALK, so even tho he's plateaued there for now, its hard to say how bad it might or might not get. They probably won't show us any of his scans, tho I wish they would.Honor Code wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:57 pm So I don’t know much about Wobbler’s beyond the general fact that it’s a neurological disorder. Thanks @Pirateena for the info. I was curious because I had heard many other people comment that Wobbler's pretty much leaves a horse to life as a pasture puff only.
Re: aftercare. Nileist, Wayne O and Big Mel (among others) have been retired previously by MRH but the only info I have is that they have gone on to "riding homes" as pleasure horses. I recall hearing Nileist went to a person very active on Twitter. Part of the difficulty is MRH horses are not always owned straight up by MRH. A lot of horses are owned in partnership with other stables (Authentic etc.)
Howboutdemapples entered for 10/27 Maiden Claiming(150k price) at Keeneland (R8)
Malibu Mayhem is entered for debut on 10/24 in a MSW at Santa Anita
Sacred Beauty is entered for 10/22 Maiden Claiming at Golden Gate ($25k claim price-OUCH at shareholders)
Vow is entered for debut race on 10/27 in a Maiden Claiming(150k price) at Keeneland (R8)
Moonlight d'oro targeting return at Del Mar at the beginning of November. Still not really sure abut her 6f works. Same goes for Lady Valentine-not sure why she didn't do better in last race. Per updates, both seem fine so....on to next race I guess.
Shared Empire is Hip #2689 at Keeneland November Sale. Nice pedigree and physical, but unraced and retired due to injury.
Tizamagician targeting Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance G2 per person on HRN.

Yeah, a puff that still costs just as much as a fully healthy horse for maintenance care. But sudden cripple/sick/dead are the risks ya run with horses in general.Honor Code wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:21 pm Thanks @Pirateena for the info. Sorry...feeling a bit morbid today for some reason. The left wing of a raven or crow just soared past my window (attached to a whole bird, of course, which was lower than my window) which looked pretty neat and cheered me up a bit.
And the work Blacker has been doing to build her confidence has started paying off - she rallied down the stretch and got 4th! I blame the fact that she was continually passed by all the other fillies and never allowed to 'win' during their time at the training center for her issues. Basically it became normal for her to lose before she even got to the track. :/ But now hopefully she'll keep improving.Sacred Beauty is entered for 10/22 Maiden Claiming at Golden Gate ($25k claim price-OUCH at shareholders)

A mo Reay is entered for 10/29 MSW at Belmont
Chasing Time now officially entered for a 6F MSW on 10/31 at Churchill Downs
Howboutdemapples entered for 10/27 Maiden Claiming(150k price) at Keeneland (R8)
Lady Valentine entered for a 7F DIRT MSW on 10/29. Second ever start on dirt. I hope she finds her niche.
Power Up Paynter is entered for 10/28 35k Claiming race at Belmont
Search Engine is entered for a 1 1/16 MSW on 10/31
Vow is entered for debut race on 10/27 in a Maiden Claiming(150k price) at Keeneland (R8)
Moonlight d'oro entered for her return race in the Seashell Stakes at Del Mar on November 3rd.
Malibu Mayhem finished 9th in his debut. Per chart, he got hit in the face with dirt and started climbing and that was it.
Sacred Beauty- I'm glad there was a method to that madness. Hopefully he will continue to improve off that race.

Question: how does Myracehorse decide to run horses in claimers, when people own shares of these horses? Do the shareholders just loose money if the horse is claimed by another stable, or do they get some sort of payout? Do the shareholders have any say in running a horse in a claimer?
i'm just thinking that if I owned Vow (which I looked into, at one point) and she was going to debut in a MCL, I would be pretty peeved.

I do not know how MRH decides what race in which to run a horse. I assume much of that comes from the trainer's recommendations based on horse performance in conjunction with any co-owners (some horses are co-owned with someone else such as Spendthrift while some horses are wholly owned by MRH). The micro-share owners have NO say in how the horse is managed.KatieK101 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 2:14 pm Question: how does Myracehorse decide to run horses in claimers, when people own shares of these horses? Pretty much all of your questions are answered in the FAQ section of the MRH web site. It depends on what type of ownership, ie ownership or lease, and also the fund pool that is used to manage the horse (vet, trainer, jockey, etc). I assume that if the horse is claimed, all outstanding expenses will be settled and any remaining monies will be distributed to the microshare owners.
Pretty much the debut races have been in MSW. When the horse isn't performing at the MSW, sometimes (I suspect) a drop to MCL to give the horse some class relief and sometimes the MCL is used if the other race conditions (distance and surf) are what the trainer is looking for. You can enter a horse in a MCL for $150K and the likelihood of that horse being claimed is pretty slim.
I'm in on a horse that was entered in a $25K MCL and nope, she didn't get claimed (I was kinda hoping she would be as based on her performance and watching her race, I'm not convinced she's a racehorse). BTW, Sacred Beauty is a filly

Not only did he recover he became a good racehorse and very nice sire.
