Good for them, they've both earned a nice, long retirement....

He’s really outrun his pedigree. I don’t see commercial breeders beating a path to the door of a son of Paynter.

I mean let's be honest, they'll try him in the US and if he fails then he'll go to South Korea, cause he is owned by the Korea Racing Authority. Of course that would depend if they will syndicate him or keep full ownership so that they could move him to Korea if they choose to.

Seems like more of a factory for sales horses than the farm I had hoped for him. Oh well. Seems like will be retired after this year then.
I don't view Taylor Made that way. I mean they just haven't had much luck outside of Unbridled's Song but they also haven't stood that many stallions. Not This Time looks promising though. Plus Knicks Go is 5 so it makes sense he'd go to stud.

He's 21, which I also don't think is that old, especially for an A.P. Indy. I wonder if the reasons for pensioning are lack of demand, lack of fertility, or lack of health. :?
'Indy lived such a long, fruitful life that I think I forget just how long he stood at stud, and the fact that his early crops are now reaching retirement age.

He is 21. He covered 51 mares last year and according to the breeding stats released earlier this month, he only had 26 foals born this year(of course the Jockey Club noted they only received 85-90% of expected foal reports so far for 2021). So maybe its more a fertility issue with him since that puts him at 51%. Or some stallions just need pensioned earlier because of other issues. I think a real indication will be how many mares he covered in 2021 but that data hasn't been released yet, I imagine it will be this week. I thought it was going to be last week but just checked and it came out the 3rd week of October last year.

21 is old for a Thoroughbred breeding stallion that has been as consistently popular has he was. Probably just physical wear and tear and a decline in fertility.

Not sure how they Justify that stud fee when his first yearlings didn't really sell that spectacularly overall.

That was stated last year in an article where 175k was shown on Coolmore's site but there was a time last fall when his stud fee was changing weekly on Coolmore's site. He ended up standing 2021 for $100,000.
