Oh no…what a wonderful mare she was; she sure has left a wonderful legacy with Flatter and Congrats. What makes it so rewarding is that they both really earned their success. Flatter was immensely talented, but he only started a few times in his career because of injuries. I'm so thankful to Claiborne for giving him a chance -and they finally got the Slew-line stallion they were looking for. Congrats looked like a TC colt when he won his debut, but injuries and such went wrong.......but he did well as an older horse. He started in Florida - seems like so long ago.
RIP to a magnificent mare

Is plea still running? Or has she been retired to take praises place in the broodmare band?HB1994 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 3:13 pm From Claiborne:
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that PRAISE has passed away at age 27 due to the infirmities of old age. Though she will be missed, her legacy will live on through her progeny, including sires FLATTER and CONGRATS. Pictured here in 2017 with her final foal Plea.

NO there is no news on if she will bred or who she will be bred to. It is still very early in the SH breeding season

One of Winx part owners Peter Tighe joined the Andrew Bensley radio show and they spent some time talking Winx. Not sure if the link will work but here it is https://player.whooshkaa.com/episode?id=893204
She stays out in the paddock with about 4 other mares and they get constant photos &/or videos of her from the farm. She is mentally and physically fantastic after a year off.
The owners will all sit down next week and decide on a stallion for Winx for this year.

Two of the greatest mares I have had the pleasure to watch - Zenyatta and Winx - are both by Street Cry. I hope Winx's connections can find a better cross for her than Zen's have so far.

Sad news about Summerly. She died of colic "earlier this year".

no talking just a short video of Serengeti Empress, looking fat and happy. The groom though when she does the lip thing, you can see the love he has for her.

Saw a new video of Rachel Alexandra. It seems her front hooves looks thicker unlike the hinds. Not sure if she is having issues or it is just how she is made.
