All the bulldogs have been bred far, FAR from their original build. I'll add King Charles Spaniels (I think that's the spaniel breed) that have skulls that stop growing...before the brain does. Imagine deliberately breeding a dog that could end up with its own brain being slowly crushed as it grows.

don't forget either that people started purposefully breeding munchkin cats. there has to be issues associated with that or there will be in the future.

At least with the King Charles spaniels, breeders early in the 20th century apparently began breeding back to the 17th century type, which meant lengthening the muzzles--hence the more normal Cavalier King Charles separate breed. Unfortunately (I've heard) after WWII there were only a half dozen surviving, and they all carried a genetic mitral heart valve defect.

I loved Arabians in the 1960's and early 1970's before they turned into caricatures.

There is, I think. It has to do with the base coat.

It has some bearing, but most of these photos we see are so far into the greying process that determining base coat is not possible.
The hyperpigmentation that grey causes can skew the look of that base colour as the horse goes through the greying process. I've seen palominos be very steel grey.
