That was her first start on the dirt. 3-1-1-1.

I like War At Sea, a son of War Front out of Serene Melody, a half sister the great Serena's Song. There's also a really expensive Baffert-trained son of Quality Road, Corniche, out of Wasted Tears.

Finishing unplaced was Calloway Peak (Mizzen Mast x Filimbi), but he had a nice gallop-out.

Calloway Peak is by the late Arrogate, who has yet to have a winner ( hope he will soon!) Well back early, closed some ground around the turn, had to alter course slightly in the stretch when another horse came over on him, finished a close fifth and could have easily been second with a bit more ground, and galloped out strongly ahead of the field. In fact the outrider had to pull him up. One to watch next time with more distance and a bit more training and seasoning.

The mare didn't get in foal the first year but the breeder of all her foals, 2016 onwards has been bred by KatieRich Farms. Her first foal was born in NY and all after have been in Kentucky.

She went to Into Mischief this year. Wow.

After going to Big Brown, Tale of the Cat, Hard Spun and Candy Ride. The first three did nothing...yet she managed to get into CR and IM’s books. I’m really surprised about the latter.

Good catch. Filimbi is by Mizzen Mast and Calloway Peak is by Arrogate. But yes, the gallop-out was certainly eye-catching.

The winner in that race, Key Point (Into Mischief), came down the middle of the track and I don't think Happy' ever saw him. May not have made a difference, as Key Point was ROLLING.
The upcoming 6th at Saratoga, a 5 1/2-furlong MSW for state bred 2yo fillies, has the Arrogate filly Adversity, who is out of the nice mare Artemis Agrotera.

Adversity just became Arrogate’s first winner in R2 at the Spa.
