It looks like Squirtle Squirt has been enjoying his slow life at JBBA Kyushu Stud.

But he will be a bit busier next year, haha! :D

Wow - didn't know Squirtle Squirt was still alive and at stud. I watched him win the 2001 King's Bishop, same day that Point Given won the Travers. Congrats to the old boy getting his first group winner.

Anybody know how Grasshopper is doing? 2nd in the Travers in 2007, he started standing stud at Lanes End Texas in 2011. In 2016 he was relocated to Valor Farm. Going through September sales pages I saw that he was listed as a gelding, and sure enough equibase has him down as a gelding. He's had foals born as recently as 2019, possibly 2020.
I'm guessing he was pensioned and gelded, but I can't seem to find any news about it.

I don't think it was announced. But we talked about it on here starting at: viewtopic.php?p=237515#p237515
But there really isn't much about it. Mylute noticed he was listed as a former stallion at Valor and I looked him up on the Jockey Club site. Nothing else.

Just another Florida Derby winner with a handful of starts. Definitely a pass. I couldn’t even remember which year he won…

Not sure what I expected.

With eight career starts he's practically an iron horse compared to Charlatan.

Truly amazing that Siyouni was almost gelded and sent to race in Hong Kong because they didn't know if breeders would want to use him.

I first read that shocking news here last night, and I thought that the racing sites would have articles up by now. But nothing yet on Bloodhorse, Paulick, DRF or even RacingPost. That's strange, as Duramente was a Japanese racing star, and a promising young stallion. :?

Horrible year.

Doesn't it? It's relentless.

Duramente is a tremendous loss.
