Happy for the winner and connections. I think Love needs to return to racing with the fillies and mares to get a confidence booster.

Mishriff is a very good horse who has finally landed a top-level prize in his home country. I figured he had a very good chance to win cutting back to 1-1/4 miles but I wasn't expecting him to run off by six lengths.

Besides the Arc, I read he is also a candidate for the Breeders' Cup Turf and Japan Cup. His win today took the sting out of hearing of another globetrotter's passing (Silvano).

How special is she? And to think last year as a two year old, she was rather ordinary really. Talk about the lightbulb turning on huh? Wow. She keeps going on a tear she just might be one of the best fillies over there ever. Certainly the best 3yo now and I’m hesitant to rank her against some of the best European three year old fillies of the past twenty years or so (there have been many good ones). Ugh and that pedigree is mouth watering. One of the last greats by DI out of a full sister to the legendary Found? Yes, PLEASE.

I’m wondering if they still think as highly of Love this year. Okay yeah a pair of third places isn’t bad but she’s been said to be the next big thing out of Ballydoyle for a long time now. I’m sure her extended vacation didn’t really help things any. I wonder if they will point her for the Arc still. A matchup between her and Snowfall.. the prospect is mouth watering. I love European racing.

Snowfall was terrific; she is really spoiling us with her regular brilliance.

Golden Pal was a rocket out of the gate in the Nunthorpe, and for about four furlongs no one could catch him. Then he seemed to tire and about six other horses passed him. Too bad.

Ward was saying all week that Golden Pal was his best horse ever. Try as he might, he just can't seem to get a win in the Nunthorpe. Acapulco, Lady Aurelia, Golden Pal, etc.

Love Strad. I was very happy for Spanish Mission, as well. His sire, Noble Mission, has stood in the shadow of his more-famous brother for years. He left Kentucky for Japan last year, and I really hope he is better-supported than he was here. IMO he has a chance to succeed at stud if he is; he carries the super genes of Galileo and Kind, and may provide the Japanese the option of those genetics much closer/less expensive than Frankel.

I watched the race 3 times, Frankie did eeeverything right on Stradivarius. I loved that he just put the stick away in the end and rode him out, once he realized he's fighting back and was gaining again. What a race! Love that horse!

St Mark's Basilica --> Irish Champions Stakes on September 11th
Snowfall --> Prix Vermeille on September 12th
Santa Barbara --> may return to America for a race at Keeneland in about 6 weeks. I would guess that means the First Lady on October 9th or could be the QE II on October 16th

John and Thady Gosden's 4yo Waldkonig, half brother to 2019 Arc winner Waldgeist, will not get the opportunity to run in this year's French Classic, as he is still recovering from a foot infection.
