Dubawi and Wootton Bassett, probably Kingman and Frankel, as well.
I'm hoping they sent some to Siyouni and Le Havre as well, though I doubt they supported Le Havre. But maybe Siyouni because of St. Marks Basilica?

What I find kind of odd and annoying is how some pundits are saying St Mark’s Basilica will be retired next year because Coolmore lost Galileo… like there aren’t already 20 other stallions at Coolmore to send mares to.

There is a reason Coolmore is the best racing outfit in the world, but they are known for not supporting most of their young stallions with their own top class mares (American Pharoah and Justify broke the mould there). Any top racehorse they have by a younger stallion (No Nay Never, Churchill, Australia, Camelot) were purchased at public auction or privately from Anne Marie O’Brien.

When you’ve got Galileo in the house, obviously you’re sending all the outcross mares to him, but they rely solely on external breeders to develop their young stallions before they’ll send any top mares to them.

They’re in the racehorse making business, so going to external proven stallions like War Front, Dubawi, Kingman, etc does make sense for breeding the best to the best…. But they are even moreso in the stallion making business, but they kind of hang their young guys out to dry when it comes to allocating them one of their dozens of G1 winners/producers.

Besides No Nay Never who tbh has been very hot or cold since his debut season, and perhaps the slower burning Camelot, they don’t have an obvious star on the rise, and it feels cyclical. Do they have no star young stallion because they don’t get sent star mares? Or would these stallions all be mid range stallions regardless of what mares they are sent?

It's not like they don't have like 10 Galileo sons already

I think they very much consider Australia a star on the rise, but that's just my impression.

I think people are saying St. Mark's Basilica will be retired because that is what history has shown Coolmore does when it comes to a colt that has done the things he has. He is a G1SW at 2 at 7f, at 3 a G1SW at 8f, then showed he can stretch that to 10f/10.5f. If he was the type that was winning G1s at 12f all the time, he would race next year. I'm with the people who think he'll retire to stud. Sure it would be nice if he raced next year but they don't race those kind at 4. Of course he really can't cover their Galileo mares since that is his broodmare sire. But I think that is why they bought Wootton Bassett as an outcross and also maybe why they went against everything you said about them really supporting first year stallions for, as far as I know, the first time with Justify. Because they have sent him G1 winners every year he has been at stud. They have sent G1 winners to other new stallions just not many.

They also aren't afraid to send their mares where ever in the world to be covered. As an example, take Peeping Fawn.

Thanks (as always) for the update, MM! :D
Glad to hear that the veteran mare has been bred back this year.
I'm also wondering where her 2021 Mendelssohn filly will be trained.
Have all of Heavenly Romance's previous US-born foals been sent to Japan to train?
Heavenly Romance's 2018 Tapit filly has been named Tapit's Angel(USA) and I believe that she is still in the US.
But it looks like that filly has been unraced and I can't see if she is in training or staying in the US just for the breeding purpose.
Her 2020 Frosted filly(USA) must be in the US now, too.

Flanders: 2019 - colt by Caravaggio born in Japan

Where is this colt now? With Coolmore, that could be one of four different continents.
Has he started?

Appears to be named Unsung Hero but dont know where
Japan studbook says exported to Ireland (probably when its mum was exported)

Also worth noting the 2014 by Deep Impact was born in Japan, then raced in the UK in 2017 as a 3yo, had 2018 off then raced in Australia in 2019, had 2020 off and is now back in training with his third Aussie trainer.
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing

Is this the first time that Coolmore has sent CH/MG1SW mares to an outside DIRT stallion? I see both Abel Tasman and Stellar Wind went to Into Mischief.

I guess I should have added young ones to the question. I know they sent Rags To Riches to Curlin but I couldn't think of any others.
