Awesome..loved mr z. He was a horse I always thought could have had more potential on the track if placed in the right spot

You mean, "If trained by someone who realized how mediocre he really was?"
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

actually, yeah. a trainer who realised what his speed limit REALLY was would place him appropriately, at least. i thought he would have made a nice bread and butter kinda horse, maybe a bit better. instead they kept putting him in over his head because... who knows, lol. won't be the last time we see a horse go through this, unfortunately.

Given he is one a very few Godolphin sireline reps left, that is unfortunate.Starine wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 7:39 pm Florida Stallion Fury Kapcori Dies at 11

Drakenstein Stud in South Africa announced that former Coolmore multiple G1 winner Lancaster Bomber (by War Front and half to top miler Excelebration) collapsed and died in his paddock this morning… heart attack suspected. He was only 7.
They also lost another former Ballydoyle inmate Kingbarns when he was 8 due to Colic in 2018.
Also… somewhat related… anyone know where Excelebration is? He isn’t at Coolmore anymore and I cant find any news about him being sold.

He hasn't been advertised standing at Coolmore Ireland since 2019. He didn't shuttle to Coolmore Australia since 2017. I haven't found anything anywhere. I'd lean toward Saudi Arabia then cause they don't advertise their stallions but I have nothing to back this up and its just a guess.

Is it possible he was quietly pensioned for some reason?

True true. Barney Roy (by Excelebration) is one of the rare cases of performing well on his racetrack comeback after proving infertile in the shed, winning three "minor" G1s last year. He hasn't raced yet in 2021, but is still listed as "in training" on their website.

Good point. I completely forgot that Excelebration's best son was yet another example of fertility issues in that sireline!Northport wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 11:36 pmTrue true.
