Thoroughbred owners who deal almost exclusively in seven figure deals aren't well versed in rehoming retired racehorses who usually go for $1000-$3000. Someone local to the community where the horse is being rehomed (aka not Arcadia, California or Elmont, New York) and/or someone or a company who specializes in rehoming would be a better choice. Adena Springs is known for their retirement program but they have staff who match the horse to the buyer to make sure it is a good fit.

The post says he is sound so I would imagine he can be trained to do whatever you want, assuming he isn't a maniac (not always a given).

Agreed! One of my favorites was Nate's Mineshaft winning the Mineshaft at Fairgrounds a few years ago. He went gate to wire in there, winning by a few lengths as I recall. And he was a big price too, I think! I became a big fan of that hard trying, fun little horse!

Agreed! One of my favorites was Nate's Mineshaft winning the Mineshaft at Fairgrounds a few years ago. He went gate to wire in there, winning by a few lengths as I recall. And he was a big price too, I think! I became a big fan of that hard trying, fun little horse!

Charming Kitten and Kitten's Cat both won the Kitten's Joy S. at GP. I was a little bit sad when Caroline Thomas was 3rd in the Bit of Whimsy S.

Anyone know the story of how a $1.75 million RNA, half to Justify ended up as a gelding? Aside from being a Will Take Charge..... Most of these end up breeding mares in Florida or Maryland or similar.

No but I'm hoping it was the owners being responsible and deciding that he shouldn't be breeding because he never made it to the track and/or has some conformation issue. I do find it strange that some random place is offering him for sale though and that it wasn't done through a bigger more known retraining facility.

Wolfie's Dynaghost (by Ghostzapper, half to Sadler's Joy) drifted out a bit in the stretch but was nonetheless impressive when winning Race 7 at Belmont. Fast fractions.

That's really nice to hear. I remember when he won his debut; he struck me as the type that might prove to be useful. And yes, his name is so cringe-worthy that it kind of grows on you.
