She is Japan's biggest icon SODASHI :D
The undefeated Oka Sho winner will run in the Japanese Oaks on Sunday!!

--- Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) preview:
https://japanracing.jp/_news2021/210518-02.html
Sodashi: Sodashi’s performance is nothing less of spectacular. She’s a two-time Grade 1 champion at this young age, and unbeaten from five starts. All but her debut was at the graded stakes level as she jumped from her first outing to two Grade 3 events before taking on the 2-year-pinnacle Hanshin Juvenile Fillies. Last out, she captured her second Grade 1 with victory in the Oka Sho. Experience at Tokyo came in her second Grade 3, the Artemis Stakes, but the question this time is whether she can handle the distance. Her winning margins have never been more than a few lengths and in her two G1 wins, she was over the line in first by but a nose, then a neck. It could be her keen sense of competition, but it could be an indication that 2,400 meters, 600 meters longer than she’s ever experienced, may be out of her reach. Adding to the questions is the fact that she’s the daughter of Kurofune, whose progeny have claimed 40 graded stakes races, but all over no more than 1,800 meters. With her win of the Oka Sho, Sodashi became only the third filly to win the race unbeaten. If she can claim the Oaks, she’ll be the 16th to do so with a pristine record, and only the third filly to claim the first two legs of the filly triple crown unbeaten.
No doubt she will be sent off the top choice of the public.
But there is some doubt as to whether she can get the distance.
Let's see how the white filly will answer the question!!

Tachyon,

What can you tell me about the beautiful Gold Ship daughter, Uberleben? I hear she is in the Oaks with an outside chance.

I'm glad to know that your focus is on Uberleben! :D
This is going to be the fourth time she faces the undefeated champion Sodashi.
But, by the great Gold Ship, o/o Roses in May mare, she is bred to run all day.
I like her chance especially if the turf is on the soft side.
Sodashi - Uberleben quinella would be my main bet then.

Thanks, Tachyon. I'm sure there is a graded stakes out there with her name on it. :)

Are they getting more in? Available on Amazon Japan?
According to the recent report, her plushies sold out in six minutes at the first sale on April 9th and in ten minutes at the second sale on April 16th.
They have only accepted some pre-order sale on the internet between April 26th and May 7th after that.
So I wonder if it wlll take considerable time before her plushies can be found on Amazon.....

JRA produced plushies of more than 100 horses to date.
But Sodashi has already smashed the sales record!!!!

Is there a way for someone in US to pre-order? Thanks! I love my Almond Eye plushie. She sits on my desk while I work.

Was I wrong in thinking horses had to have won 4 G1 races to get a plushie?

Sodashi plushies are not on sale right now on JRA's official web store.
And I wouldn't imagine that they will take orders from abroad...

By the way, I'm glad to hear that Almond Eye plushie is on your desk!! :D

They basically make plushie dolls for those horses who win two G1s.
Sodashi is an exception as her plushie was already made following her Hanshin Juvenile Fillies victory.

Tachyon can you help me with times?

What day/time HERE does the race go off, I'm hoplessly hopeless about computing such things.

I used to have all this written out on an index card for myself so I did not have to think when I played australia a lot but I seem to have lost it.

I want to log onto twinspires for this race.

Sodoshi's back legs are so long. But her legs are like spindles. It's amazing how "feminine" she is

Obviously not tachyon but if you are Central time zone which I assume because you go to Oaklawn, post time should be 1:40 am tonight for you, unless I screwed converting up. Post time is 3:40 pm in Tokyo on Sunday, Central is 14 hours behind that.

Uberleben becomes the first G1 winner for Gold Ship.
Also, her victory is a perfect tribute to Mr Shigeyuki Okada, ex-owner of Big Red Farm, who passed away in March.
The winner is bred by Big Red Farm, the sire Gold Ship stands at BIg Red Farm and the broodmare sire Roses in May(USA) stands at BIg Red, too.

Yes, not her day. :( She was "right there" and then just lost ground in the final part of the stretch.

I played her and Uberleben in singles win/place and did well but didn't even attempt an exotic
