Kingman(GB) sired his first G1 winner in Japan, as his 3yo colt Schnell Meister(GER)[o/o Serienholde(GER) by Soldier Hollow(GB)] won the G1 NHK Mile Cup at Tokyo on May 9th 2021. :D
I'm so happy for Kingman and already sure that Schnell Meister will be a popular stallion when he retires from racing!!

Courtney Snow just posted a pic of War Emblem's pretty cool headstone and on it is, "WE THOUGHT HE WAS IMMORTAL."

Story of Dancer's Image in retirement, who used to be the only Derby winner to be disqualified. He was also taken down from 3rd in the Preakness due to interference. Story: https://backring.paulickreport.com/life ... oughbreds/

Aww, I loved Redattore! I remember him winning the Kilroe (I think), under Julie Krone. I was screaming my bloody head off!

Sad news indeed. Rest in Peace.😢

Indeed. I’m absolutely heartbroken. MM was brilliantly talented, but unfortunately never got to really show it one the track. He became a wonderful sire...I’m only glad he didn’t suffer, and that he lived a long life...💔💔💔💔💔

It didn't feel as though MM was 24.

I am so sorry to hear this. He pretty much saved Country Life Farm. I always thought he was too ornery to die. 💔

made me smile to read one person in the article say "he was a friend", because even though he had That Attitude (which i saw in person at castleton lyons), it was clear he was still very well loved.

I've been curious as to why Spendthrift never bred Beholder to Malibu Moon. I can't see any genetic issues in the hypo mating. As a matter of fact, it would have been an outcross in the first 5 generations.

Was there some physical reason, like size or something, that would have made that a bad match. I'm not very good at being aware of things like that.

I just thought it would have been a no-brainer, especially since their bedrooms were only down the hall from each other, so to speak.

Go with God, Malibu Moon. You were a beautiful boy!

I wish I’d gotten to see him, and his daddy. So, MM thought he was the boss ? I love it!

"We thought he was too ornery to die" should be the epitaph on his stone.

I always loved the old crusty ones. It’s hard to believe MM was 24. It’s apparent his people are heartbroken
