Her main target this year is going to be the G1 BC Filly & Mare Turf in Del Mar with a prep race either in Japan or in the states!!
Also she might be headed to Hong Kong in December after the BC.

Thanks goodness she's in Japan. If she ran in the U.S. she would've been retired after 6 races and bred twice by now.tachyon wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 3:04 am Gran Alegria(JPN), 2016M. haha.
Gran Alegria is a club-owned horse who has been fixed to race until the end of her 5yo season (or until March of the following year at the longest) as long as she is sound.
Yes, this is going to be her last year of racing.
She is likely to run next in the G1 Yasuda Kinen 1600m turf at Tokyo in June.
It also sounds like her trainer wants to give her another shot with the additional distance in the G1 Tenno Sho Autumn 2000m turf at Tokyo in October.

''I believe that Sunday Silence was a stallion that possessed the potential to be very successful anywhere in the world,'' reflects Teruya Yoshida.
''We were just lucky to be able to introduce him to Japan as a stallion.''
''He changed the Japanese breeding industry completely, especially as he sired successful sons as race horses and stallions. Those sons again sired successful grandsons.''

That was a tremendous finish, with Shahryar just barely getting his nose in front of Efforia, who didn't deserve to lose. A deadheat would have been nice.
Dubai Majesty has become a wonderful broodmare.

Hard to imagine indeed. Of course, how often here do we see a sire with 6 or 7 progeny in a race too?
There's certainly going to be a massive shift in Japanese racing when his last progeny are past prime racing age.
Will be the same in Europe when Galileo is finally pensioned.

Yes!
Katies(IRE), the Irish 1000 Guineas winner, was the super filly who defeated the English 1000 Guineas winner Pebbles(GB) in the 1984 Coronation Stakes in a historic duel, wasn't she?

Katies(IRE) became a very influential broodmare, too, especially for the Japanese racing, represented by three JRA champions Hishi Amazon(USA), Admire Moon(JPN)[grandson of Katies First(USA)] and Sleepless Night(JPN)[daughter of What Katie Did(USA)] from her descendants.
Now I hope that Efforia(JPN) will be able to claim his championship for his female family, too.
