Any news which farm he will shuttle to? Arrowfield stands the most Japanese stallions, but they dea exclusively with Shadai.

I was wondering the same thing, Northport.
I have not yet seen anything mentioned about California Chrome's shuttling to Australia in Japanese sources, anyway.

In the recent years, few Japan-based stallions shuttled to Australia.
In 2019, only Shadai sent Maurice(JPN), Mikki Isle(JPN), Real Steel(JPN) and Satono Aladdin(JPN) to Australia in an alliance with Arrowfield.
But, until the outbreak of the equine influenza both in Japan and Australia in 2007, there used to be many more Japan-based stallions shuttling to Australia and New Zealand and they were not limited to Shadai Stallions.
In 2006, for example, Black Hawk(GB), Black Tuxedo(JPN), Desert King(IRE), Falbrav(IRE), Grandera(IRE), Grass Wonder(USA), Jungle Pocket(JPN), Stravinsky(USA), Tayasu Tsuyoshi(JPN), Timber Country(USA) and Zenno Rob Roy(JPN) visited Australia & New Zealand.

If Arrow Stud (JS Company) sends California Chrome to Australia, this could be seen as sort of a return to normal, too.

Arrowfield have just announced their 2021 fees so it is definitely not them. I've been searching for this but whoever it is is keeping it very quiet right now....

I don't follow Australian bloodstock very closely, but I wonder if a farm like Aquis would stand him? They have a large roster of mostly inexpensive stallions.

Besides Arrowfield, Darley, Coolmore, and Vinery (kind of), not a lot of the larger stud farms stand shuttle stallions.

There are plenty of big (& small) stud farms that stand shuttle sires. Valachi in NZ comes to mind, a very small boutique stud that last year stood 2 shuttle sires from Coolmore.

Just took a quick look at fee announcements Vinery, Widden, Darley, Aquis, Arrowfield, Newhaven, Rosemont, & Newgate have all made 2021 announcements. I could probably sit down and work out which major ones haven't but my brain is fried right now :D

It does seem that he is getting more chestnuts with a lot of flash in Japan compared to US, but that could just be the pics we are getting or that he has more chestnut mares at his court there.

Actually, Chrome sired a lot of chestnuts with white markings in the U.S. and Chile, too. No sire stamps 100% of his foals. Genetics doesn't work that way, but it is interesting how many of Chrome's foals resemble him no matter the dam's color.

I cannot think of any value he brings to the Australian mare pool that justifies the expense of shuttling him there.

I imagine he’ll have the same results as similar unfashionably bred Derby winners who shuttled down under, Animal Kingdom and Big Brown. Without the allure of being TC winners or the support of mega duel Hemisphere farms, I just don’t see why Aussie breeders would have any interest in middle distance horse who did their best work on dirt. Especially Chrome, since he already has a crop racing and not setting the world on fire (yet).

Not a slight at any of the above mentioned horses, but unless they set Chrome’s fee at $10,000 and let any and all mares into his book, I don’t see how he’ll cover more than 60 or 70 mares.

I've seen at least 27 California Chrome's Japanese babies so far, 16 of whom are chestnuts.
More interestingly, most of his foals, chestnut or bay, have white markings. ;)

And here's another one:

You are welcome!
And here's another baby born yesterday.
They say she was a breech baby.
Fortunately both the mare and the filly were okay.
