Efforia(JPN) became the 19th undefeated Satsuki Sho winner following Saturnalia(JPN)(Lord Kanaloa) and Contrail(JPN)(Deep Impact) in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
It was the first G1 victory for young jockey Takeshi Yokoyama, 22yo, who is the son of currently active jockey Norihiro Yokoyama.
Takeshi’s victory makes him the third second generation Satsuki Sho winner after Yutaka (father/Kunihiko) Take and Yuichi (father/Yoichi) Fukunaga.
And Efforia became only the sixth horse to win the Satsuki Sho by more than three lengths following Tosho Boy(JPN), Miho Shinzan(JPN), Narita Brian(JPN), Deep Impact(JPN) and Orfevre(JPN)!!!!!!

with his trainer Yuichi Shikato

France Go de Ina(USA)(Will Take Charge) will enter quarantine on April 27th and leave for the states on May 5th.
The 3yo colt will be aimed at the Preasness May 15th!!
I wonder if he failed to show his best after fever in the UAE Derby (6th).
His trainer Hideyuki Mori always wanted to take him to the states.
Good Luck!!

I'm going to be rooting for Authority, the late, great Cesario's grandson.

He is one of my sentimental favorites, too.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 9:15 pm I'm going to be rooting for Authority, the late, great Cesario's grandson.
Hope he can overcome the widest draw which is not favorable for this race,.
Oddly enough, three Orfevre babies have been put together in outside posts.

Never bet against the German breeding at distance.
I also can't believe Al's Gal already has a 3 year old, but I guess that is right.
The dam of the winner of the 7th race, Amabile, is Nishino Feminine who was bred to Chrome for this year though I don't think a foal has been reported yet. He was also bred to the dam of the second place finisher in the first race Lien Pesca.
Another stakes winner for Makfi in the Tango Stakes.

I thought Curren Bouquetd'or would finally win a G1 as they turned for home, but....
Katsumi Ando, ex-jockey and commentator for Fuji TV, put it, ''she is really a type of horse who doesn't want to win.''
This is the first time a filly or mare placed in a G1 race in Japan going 3000m or more.
