Gelding Black On Gold (Sebring x Fools Gold, by Commands) won the Listed Ladies Day Cup. He is registered black/brown.

I'm having difficulty deciding whether Air Force Blue's Major Frontier is black or just as close to black as you can get as a dark bay (which is what he's registered as).

I tend to think Talk Veuve to Me is black based on the photos of her on Stonestreet's website.

Also, "Talk Widow to Me"?

I would guess it has more to do with the brand Veuve Clicquot than widows

Looks dark bay to me; you can see pretty clearly on his chest and face that he is dark brown.

A nearly-black filly by Bal a Bali out of Bee Roll (English Channel) sold for $15K today at OBS.

i know Songster is reg blk, but does the brown on the muzzle here not make him bay? i thought this was a bay characteristic not seen in true blk horses (but i'm happy to be taught otherwise if i'm wrong!)

You're right, true black horses don't have those patches around the muzzle. Then again, it's been forever...but I don't remember Songster having those brown highlights when he was racing. Maybe it's a sunbleaching effect?

Has Ironstone been listed? Holy cow, I just saw a photo of him and the person who took it, Julie Wright, mentioned him looking like The Black.
She wasn't kidding, her shot fit all of the day dreams I had back then about what The Black and his head would look like!
