ABSAM won race #3 at Keeneland today. His first time going 1 1/8 miles and his first win. Guess he appreciated the added distance. Came from far back to win by a neck His record is now 8-1-2-0.

TANGO CHARLIE won race #4 at Oaklawn Park today. His record is now 2-1-0-0. Blinkers added seems to have made a big difference. He trailed the field and never got involved in his first race and today he led the whole way.

He had 10 points from winning the Smart Jones. His grand total of Derby points = 50
I hope he doesn't run in the KY Derby. Would like to see him point to the Preakness.Shorter distance and not such a large field. KY Derby is in 3 weeks. He just ran hard. He sure is game though. Maybe they run him and he wins. I just hate the 20 horse field.
Apparently Concert Tour is considered one of the top 3year olds. And Caddo River bested him.

I was so proud of him today. I knew the Rebel was not "him". I liked the way he battled back when Concert Tour passed him briefly in the stretch. He had fight in him. Concert Tour was not all that highly regarded until his win in the Rebel, and then pundits seemed to anoint him the second coming. Caddo was taken out of his comfort zone in that race and also gave CT 5 pounds.MTO wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 8:46 pmHe had 10 points from winning the Smart Jones. His grand total of Derby points = 50

Caddo is something like #13 in points, so well within the number of 20 with all the prep races now in the books. He is guaranteed a spot in the Derby if they choose to go. I guess Geroux will ride Essential Quality in the KD. Who would ride Caddo if he is entered? If the KD is too long for him, the Preakness probably is, too. If they chose to skip the Derby, why not wait until until June and run in the Woody Stephens on Belmont Day. Then wait for the Haskell, Allen Jerkens, and PA Derby. They are all G1 races at shorter distances. And I still have my suspicions about the Oaklawn track, while there was some success there this year, still no graded stakes wins on that track for any Hard Spun. I keep thinking of Hard Spun and the clunker he ran there. Finished 4th against a poor field of horses. Teuflesburg won that race, I think. Hard Spun left him in the dust in the Derby. I hope they do with Caddo what Jones did with Hard Spun. Get him to Louisville and see how he gets over that track. Caddo had his breakout maiden win there last fall. Just rambling....

SILVER STATE entered in G2 Oaklawn Handicap, April 17th. This boy-o is riding a 4 race winning streak. Can he keep it going? Would love to see him get a graded win. He has been so consistent.

SNAP DECISION will be stretching his legs this Sunday in race #3. I don't think this counts. It's just for training, I think, but with competition: http://www.centralentryoffice.com/Annua ... 5T15:26:01

CADDO RIVER still not certain for KD as of today. https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/ ... tering_123
Owner Anthony has had some horrific experiences with past leading contenders, so his concern is understandable.

SILVER STATE fooled the 'experts' who didn't give him much credit going into the Oaklawn Handicap (race #9). Great win for him in this $1,000,000 G2 race. Patient ride in mid-pack tipped out wide coming off the turn and ran the leaders down. Boy, was I ever screaming my head off. Afterwards the talking heads were saying, well gee, I guess 1 1/8 miles is within his scope....by Hard Spun out of an Empire Maker mare and they wondered about 1 1/8 miles for him? I think he is the first graded winner Hard Spun has ever had at Oaklawn.

SILVER STATE earned a 101 BSF for his win yesterday. I think that's his best yet. Patience sure paid off with him.

Oh, wow, that's quite some list! Obviously, not all will go in those races, but it will be exciting if even half of them run that weekend. SNAP DECISION just ran this past weekend in a point-to-point here in Virginia. It was non-sanctioned, just for training purposes, so I don't think it will be reflected on his racing record, but he may be entered in a hurdle race sometime soon. There are some coming up at Middleburg on May 1.MTO wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:43 am ATTACHMENT RATE nominated to G2 Alysheba at Churchiill - Friday 4/30/2021 on Oaks day. 1 1/16 dirt
