Across the OTHER Pond...TVG just announced that Rosehill has cancelled tonight's (Saturday in Oz) races. No Golden Slipper?!
How bad is the weather there for them to abandon Rosehill's most important card?
ETA: Update from Racenet:
SATURDAY RACING
Golden Slipper meeting postponed autumn carnival rescheduled
Sydney’s showpiece Golden Slipper meeting has been postponed after heavy rain overnight has left Rosehill Gardens unsafe for racing and as a consequence the Sydney autumn carnival has now been rescheduled.
Racing NSW stewards and Australian Turf Club officials conducted a track inspection at 6am and determined the race meeting could not proceed.
Marc Van Gestel, Racing NSW’s chief steward, said there was surface water on some sections of the Rosehill course proper and with the forecast of more rain today, felt there was no alternative but to postpone the meeting.
Racing NSW is considering various contingency plans and is expected to make an announcement this morning.

Normally postponing 5 G1s to the next weekend wouldn't be that much of a hassle, but it's pretty common in Australia during their Autumn carnivals/The Championships for G1 horses to race two, three, or even four weekends in a row. I guess they have to pick which race is worth skipping once they are rescheduled.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 4:57 pm Across the OTHER Pond...TVG just announced that Rosehill has cancelled tonight's (Saturday in Oz) races. I’ve gone for Minella Times, Vieux Lion Rouge, Kimberlite Candy and had a sentimental bet on my favourite Mister Malarkey.
They’ve had races over the national fences for the first two days of the festival with no incidents at all so fingers crossed we have a safe race today.

Harry Cobden (Give Me A Copper) has been replaced by Sean Bowen. Harry sustained facial fractures in a fall during an earlier hurdle race. He was taken to hospital and will be further scans later on today.

Congratulations to Rachel on her historic win, but...
There were a lot of falls and dislodged riders, some of whom came down in the middle of the big field. And I saw one horse being pulled up off to the side of the course with what appeared to be a badly broken back leg.
The fact that the race was never redirected around any fence due to a downed horse gives me hope that there will be 'only' one fatal injury this year.

It's Rachael Blackmore's world, we're just living in it.
Seeing the success of Hollie Doyle, Briony Frost, and Rachael Blackmore in the last year has made me a bit misty. Hopefully it's onward and upward for female jockeys in Europe.
Has any trainer had a run like Henry De Bromhead is currently having?
Winning the Champion Hurdle, Champion Chase, 1-2 in the Gold Cup, 1-2 in the Grand National. Unbelievable.
Not sure which horse broke his hind left after Becher's or the Canal turn the 2nd time around but it didn't look good

It was The Long Mile who pulled up injured. No official update yet but didn’t look promising.Northport wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 12:39 pm It's Rachael Blackmore's world, we're just living in it.

The URL you include at the end of your posts (which for some reason doesn't appear in quotations like the one above) leads to a Facebook page last updated in November 2020. No info on The Long Mile at all. Got another URL that might link to an active Facebook page?

Addeyyb wins the G1 QEII in Australia for the 2nd year in a row. He's kind of amazing, and William Haggas has trained him to perfection. In England he was a solid listed/G3 horse, then in Spring 2020, Haggas ships him to Australia where the horse wins two G1s and takes advantage of the weaker middle distance competition there. He then returns to England, is 2nd in the G1 Prince of Wales's, wins a listed race, then wins the G1 Champion Stakes.

I can tell you that the connections of Veery Ellegant are probably hoping Addeyyb misses his flight to Australia next year. The two horses have met 4 times and Addeyyb has won 3 of them.
