I don't know if it's the horrible Photoshop outlining, but Hot Streak's legs look toothpick-skinny. His rear cannon bones look both too thin and too long.
I'd love to see what the horse actually looks like because, in that photo, his legs look like they'd break if he sneezed. :o :(

I know this isn't a new picture but are Into Mischief's front legs really as bad looking as they look in this picture? I tried searching and saw someone said he is crooked up front.

whoa... if you hadn't asked if he was crooked i would have assumed he was caught mid-jiggle.

And aren't the heels on his front hooves really low? Would a farrier do that to try to compensate for being over at the knee? :?

I just looked at his Stallion Register photo (hard copy, I love browsing) and he does look a little over but not nearly as jiggly as that photo. I really wouldn't have put that one out!
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Quite honestly, he looks more over at the knee than even in this photo. The stallion register is probably his best photo he has. Check out the conformation shot in the stallion show video.

His right heel seems more crushed than the left, but I don't know if a farrier would do that on purpose to compensate for a conformation flaw of a horse that isn't in full undersaddle work, as it can cause a lot of tenderness in the heel if they get too low or crushed.

That's just my amateur take on it though, it isn't something I have ever thought about really... I'll have to ask my farrier next time I see him.

Yikes, he's really a mess up front. And he's got some serious pancake feet going on in the fronts too.
Good thing for him his offspring can still run.

Did he retire because of an ankle? His RF looks bigger.

I don't think they cited a reason for his retirement. I know he flipped out that one time, but I thought they said he wasn't really hurt.

It could be the angle.

I wondered the same thing based on that ankle. And they skipped over filming up from that angle on his video, kind of like how they didn't show Lord Nelson's front feet in that pan up either.

They didn't say why he was retired but he didn't run like himself in the Malibu. He was a horse that liked to race on the front, he never made it anywhere near the front that day and dropped out pretty early. So I would hazard a guess that yes he came out of the race with something wrong.

I may be mistaken, but I thought I read he was never the same after he flipped and hit his head.

That's what I remember too, although it might have been a smokescreen. Still, it's kind of silly to try and hide an injury if his ankle really is a giveaway.

The only other race he ran after the Derby, besides the Malibu, was the Preakness and he tried to go with Authentic and it didn't work out. He also wasn't very consistent in 2020. He'd run a good race, throw in a couple clunkers, rinse and repeat. His record was (7)2-1-0 in 2020. Not exactly spectacular.

Dear Lord... why?
Why not? Genuinely curious as to why you're offended by this one.
It's not the horse, simply the way he was presented. SDD was a nice race horse, and selling stallions is hard enough. Why make it harder with a photo like that?
