Tachyon, thanks for posting the photo of the new Japanese Chrome baby. I looked up the mare's pedigree and see that it is very interesting. Candy Barows' sixth dam, War Kilt, was a full sister to War Relic, the most successful of Man o' War's sons at stud. Man o' War's male line still survives today through War Relic's descendant, Tiznow.

This branch of War Kilt's family improved a lot when Affrettata, dam of Candy Barows, was bred to Sunday Silence grandsons. Affrettata produced two stakes winners by Admiral Moon, a maternal grandson of Sunday, and one stakes winner by Deep Impact (Candy Barows).

Candy Barows is line-bred to Halo through his champion sons, Sunday Silence and Devil's Bag. Also, Candy Barows brings a cross of Seattle Slew to her foal by Chrome, who is from Slew's male line.

I can’t figure out which of her foals has the worst name honestly. Her 2020 filly is Teena Ella. I think Karin with an i is probably the worst

Teena Ella sounds very cutesy and childlike - I think it's the best.

MC's neighbor Beer Baroness (dam of Ria Antonia) foaled a filly by Arrogate. In the past Beer Baroness has experienced depleted body conditioning post-foaling so they made the decision to put the filly with a nurse mare a day after foaling. The nurse mare is G3W Betty's Wish. Interesting. Beer Baroness is doing well so I suppose they thought it would be better to get the foal attached to a nurse mare early before (if) things got worse.

Cam tonight shows that Betty's Wish is no longer behind the guard and has settled in nicely. This is the photo of Ria Antonia's little sister investigating the board attached with the blog post. Probably gray like dad.
