I may be biased, but I always thought he was underrated as a stallion. They say Belmont winners don't make the best sires but he was more than useful and got a number of good horses on both dirt and turf. And some of his daughters have turned out to be very good producers too.

I might have been a member of that unofficial fan club lol. I agree that he was underrated as a stud. He wasn't the flashiest and didn't necessarily get the cream of the broodmares, but he more than proved his worth.

Just read that AP is now 12-for-14 with his JPN starters. Thought it was neat.

Obviously it's still very early, but since Coolmore isn't opposed to shuttling him, I wonder if they're considering shuttling him to Japan in the future?

He can't really "shuttle" there from the US, since they also breed on Northern Hemisphere time.

I wanted to add that its nice to see Cape Canaveral is still standing at Highfield. I kind of forgot about him and had no idea he was still standing at stud, Seaside Attraction was a really nice producer in her sadly very short broodmare career.

Even with his fertility issues, I am shocked that he has only covered a handful of mares in his stud career, most of them being owned by Sheikh Khalifa. In his first season you would have think he'd covered at least 10-20 mares before his issues became apparent. He's a G1 winning son of Dubawi who performed on both surfaces, I'm surprised no one is interested in that in South America.

That being said, I'm not familiar with normal book sizes down there, but you'd think he would have been able to get at least 30-40 mares in his first season.

G1W Discreet Lover (Repent) was RNA for $47K as stallion prospect only.

G3W Bourbon Resolution (New Year's Day) was sold to an entity named Tasmania Farms for $27K.

He is not listed on Haras Abolengo’s website so he may have been standing as a private stallion.

Saturnalia(JPN)(Lord Kanaloa), dual G1 winner & champion 3yo colt in 2018, has been retired from racing and will stand at Shadai Stallion Station.
He is the third son of Cesario(JPN) to become a stallion, following Epiphaneia(JPN)(Symboli Kris S) and Leontes(JPN)(King Kamehameha).
