Wow!
Schnell Meister(GER) won the Hiiragi Sho 1600m turf at Nakayama 8R very impressively under Christophe Lemaire to remain undefeated 2 for 2 on Dec 19th 2020.
It's really nice to see those Kingman 2yos doing very well in Japan! :D

It doesn't seem like it's been that long since we watched them on Foal Patrol. Glad he's a winner.

I am so glad there are offspring of good US-trained mares, who've been purchased by Japanese connections, winning G1s. Well done, Grenadier Guards!

I believe that Grenadier Guards has already cemented his stallion prospect with today's record-breaking performance and an impeccable pedigree. Look forward to seeing his sophomore campaign next year.

G1W Unbridled Forever’s first foal debuts today in the 7th at GP. The 2yo filly is owned by Fipke and sired by MDO, so her name is (drum roll) ... Unbridled D’Oro.

Tough choice between that and Forever D'Oro.

Unbridled Forever already has a half bro by that name  Fipke is going to run out of combinations soon.

The filly, BTW, was a distant 2nd to Zaajel (Street Sense).

Lemons Medaglia is the winner for worst name, at this point. I give him props for being consistent, its easy as can be to pick Fipke horses out and then figure out their pedigrees without looking. But yeah he is going to run out of combinations fast. 2 yearlings, 2 weanlings, and then all 3 mares were bred to MDO for 2021.

Next name should be Squeeze the Lemon Dry, lol - he’s certainly doing that with the names

Colonel Liam impresses with Tropical Park Derby triumph
https://www.drf.com/news/colonel-liam-i ... by-triumph

I wasn't aware of this before the race, but Colonel Liam's second dam is an old favorite of mine, Wonder Again. His sire is, as you may have guessed, Liam's Map.

In the same article there's a blurb about Vigilante's Way (Medaglia d'Oro x Salute) winning the Tropical Park Oaks -- albeit in a faster time than Colonel Liam. She's a half to grade I winner Mr. Speaker, with the second dam being Personal Ensign.

Shug McGaughey... turned the trick with the soon to turn 3-year-old Greatest Honour, who overcame much adversity to graduate going a mile and one-sixteenth in the seventh race, and Vigilantes Way, wire to wire winner of the Tropical Park Oaks.

Greatest Honour got squeezed at the start then was bumped soundly around the first turn by the ill-fated Dude’s Got Game, who suffered a fatal heart attack less than a quarter-mile into the race. Despite dropping far back after the incident, Greatest Honour recovered to put in a steady run to finally wear down and edge clear from Pletcher’s Dynamic One to win his maiden as a prohibitive 1-2 favorite.

“He overcame a lot of trouble, Luis [Saez] said that other horse hit him pretty hard,” McGaughey said. “The light hasn’t gone on yet, I still think he has a lot to learn, and when it does I think he’s going to be a really nice horse, especially once we get him stretched out a little further. I’d like to find a one other than allowance race going a mile and one eighth for him next. I don’t really want to put him right into one of the big races just yet unless I have to.”

The Tapit colt's second dam is Better Than Honour, making his first dam a half to Rags to Riches, Jazil, Casino Drive, etc.
