He’s a horse that could be a good 5-year-old, but nope.

I honestly do not understand the rush to retire this horse.

G1 winner Mr Melody(USA), 2015H. Scat Daddy(USA) x Trusty Lady(USA) by Deputy Minister(CAN), has been retired from racing.
He will stand at Yushun Stallion Station.
I hope that he will become the flag-bearer for the great Scat Daddy in Japan!

-- Stallion Roster 2021 for Arrow Stud (with new stud fees)

http://www.jscompany.jp/10_arrowstud/list.html

This is a Japanese link and all written in Japanese inconveniently.
But if you bother to click ''JBIS'>>'' tab on the right of each stallion, you may find who he is.

California Chrome remains at JPY 4,000,000 (about USD 38.5k).
Shanghai Bobby remains at JPY 2,000,000 (about 19.2k)

That's OK actually! Google will usually translate non-English well on websites. I can see rough English translations.

Did anyone else notice that both of the winners of the Golden Rod and Kentucky Jockey Club were out of mares by Victory Gallop?

we certainly don't like giving stallions chances, more power to japan. i hope they find another Sunday Silence some day, they have a pretty good eye for breeding imo.

Not really news but I looked up Galileo on Pedigree Query to double check his age and his bio is so... random... and kind of salty?

https://www.pedigreequery.com/galileo4

I know anyone can edit any horse on the site, but of all the things Galileo has done, his substandard results in Australia seems like the pettiest thing to be up there. Surprised no one's changed it. I can't find any info, but I also don't think he ever stood for anything near $300,000 in Australia, he only stood there for 5 seasons.

Yeah its pretty ridiculous. I'll just delete it and we'll see if someone puts it back. If they do, I can always write a comment. There is an article about why he failed in Australia and it was because breeders didn't trust the Sadlers' Wells line and sent him subpar mares, while he was supported with really good mares in Ireland.
He sure as heck wasn't standing for 300k anywhere in the time span he stood in Australia. I can't find his Australian stud fee for that time but they always set their Australian fees lower for shuttle stallions that aren't proven. I'm just going to post a link to his Irish stud fee for that time span, I could type it but his first year at stud was before Euros. https://www.racingpost.com/profile/hors ... ee-history

Shame. Didn't his sire Sabirli also die at age 9?

I like all 3 of these fillies, but I am hoping Millefeuille turns out to be a good one!
