That lack of trust that we're seeing what the horse really looks like is one of the reasons I HATE these Photoshopped conformation photos.

International Star (Fusaichi Pegasus x Parlez, by French Deputy) at Haras Porta Pia for 2020. My old Derby horse, bless him.

Reckon why Pin Oak didn't want him.

Besides the horse hovering in the air cause no background, I swear they crop out the stallions forelocks in all their photos. I understand maybe brushing them to the side but how do they completely go away?? Do they braid them and then photoshop them out? Horses look bad without forelocks.
I will give them props for being consistent though cause even in their ones with backgrounds they make the stallions look weird. Like they managed to make Omaha Beach look ugly. I also give them props for leaving the green background in his halter.

Laoban's is the best of the floating horse pics. He looks borderline race fit.

Glad I’m not the only one who misses forelocksFlanders wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 3:56 amBesides the horse hovering in the air cause no background, I swear they crop out the stallions forelocks in all their photos. He looks like he should be out on the hunting field with that hogged mane effect, it does his face no favours at all. And whilst I love a big white blaze, I always think that they are the ones most at risk of looking daft if you use a bad photo...
I loathe the photoshopping, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a floating stallion and thought “wow” (apart from maybe Lipizzaners )

The thinking that is behind the changing conformation shots is the same that is behind supposed upgrades of computer programs. Along with a very small amount of decent changes to correct previous flaws in the nuts and bolts of the program, you mainly get a new look just for the sake of the team being told they have to "change something". This new interface is at best irritating to learn and deal with and at worse makes you want to throw the computer out the window.
