The buyer was Fergus Galvin, Agent for Marc Detampel.
Yeah, I saw that. Wonder what their plans are for him; that's a lot more money than I thought he'd bring.
The article I saw said he was going to be trained by Brad Cox and they hope they can stop his pre-race antics and get him back to top form.

So they want to improve on Bill Mott...

That’s a crazy price; this horse is going to forever live off of his maiden win

Here is the article. Maybe I could have worded what I said a little better. They hope they can stop his pre-race antics which will let him return to top form because they feel he is immensely talented and that Bill Mott has done a good job with him but that its his acting up pre-race that is pulling him down.

Today is the final session of the Keeneland November sale. Its always sad to me when horses don't even get a bid at auction. So far 5 weanlings have gone through and not received a bid. Most you have to go to the 3rd or 4th dam to find anything of note.

She went for 135k. I'm having a hard time figuring out who bought her. Is it the son of the owner of Saint Liam? Or just someone else with the same name?
He also bought Miss Isella, Silver Charm's best US bred filly, for a total of 12 mares and 6 weanlings from the sale so far.

Nah, you worded it fine. I imagine that if Mott couldn’t fix this horse, who could? But maybe Brad Cox has fewer horses in his stable and can take more time with the colt. I’m skeptical that it’s simply a matter of his antics, because when he actually runs, he doesn’t run that well anymore, but it’s not my money, if the new owner is willing to take a shot, why not?

Well, some say that BC is the new BB. . .purely with respect to success, of course. 8-)
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out too. My friend who worked with Miss Isella and absolutely loved her is pretty sure she found the guy on Facebook and is thinking about shooting him a message.

Makes me worry about what happens to them. One guy who was buying cheaply, in the last two sessions, have had horses found in kill pens.

Just browsing the sale and saw that G3 winner of over $600,000, Paladin Bay was sold by Calumet for $4,000. She's by Sligo Bay, so not terribly fashionable, but she's only 9, and she's had three foals (two of racing age) by Calumet's (pretty crappy) stallions Eye of the Leopard and Oxbow. She wasn't bred in 2020.

They bought her for $170,000 in 2015, so I'm surprised they're already giving up on her for such a paltry amount, when she barely has had a chance to prove herself and already was a pretty good value and addition to the broodmare band as a G3 winner. They breed plenty of cheap claimer mares to their low level stallions, but this is one they need to cull from the herd?

It also looks like they offer everything without reserve. I respect that they take chances on unpopular stallions and seem to have some grand plan, but the term "dumping" rather than "selling" comes to mind when they bring their offerings to the sales... If you're going to breed a claimer to Raison d'tat or Eye of the Leopard, you better plan on racing it yourself, because you're just producing poor horses that no one wants.

We Miss Artie sold for...$6,500. A G1 winner whose first foals are only 3yos. But Hidden Scroll sells for over a half-million? I don’t get it.

Yeah I didn't figure WMA would sell for a lot but that is really yikes.

Horse who keeps having racing issues sells for half a million, this guy goes for $6,500. He was bought by a William Nicks, who I believe owns Nicks Farm.

G2W Have At It (Kitten's Joy) sold for $15K to "Bloodstock Services."

MSW Blind Ambition (Tapit) sold for $40K to J. Kent Sweezey.

G2W Backyard Heaven (Tizway) sold for $10K to "Bloodstock Services."

MSW Sir Dudley Digges (Gio Ponti) sold for...$6,700 to South Point Sales Agency for Cole Bennett. I did some digging and this is Cole Bennett Racing Stables, who is proud of their purchase and plan to stand him as a stallion in his native Ontario. SDD is a cool horse because he won the Queen's Plate in Canada and then went to Barbados and won their prestigious race down there.

Its all about potential. Hidden Scroll has flashed potential on the track and if they can get his head straightened out, he could earn them money on the track.

There is little potential for We Miss Artie. He hasn't done much as a stallion and breeders outside of Ramsey haven't really used him since he moved back to Kentucky and they really didn't when he stood in Canada either. I looked at all his yearlings that have sold the past two years, all have they either been bred by Ramsey or produced from mares that Ramsey sold in foal, except 2 or 3, which were foaled in Ontario where he previously stood. I don't even know if he covered mares in 2020, he has a Report of Mares bred submitted for 2020 but doesn't appear on the Jockey Clubs report of mares bred list. He yearling sales are awful, his 4 best sold have been 5k, two at 12k and one at 20k. He also has had two sell for under 1k and two that never received bids. I know Nicks Farm bought him but they also buy stallions to resell and try to turn a profit. So if they can't sell him on, then he'll stand there. Neither of the stallions that stand at Nicks Farm even had Reports of Mares bred submitted for 2020.

Ouch. Seriously.
Is she producing aliens? I liked her as a racehorse, breeding to those 2 stallions certainly didn’t help her.

SDD raced equally well on the all weather and turf...so his racing form and pedigree fits Canadian-bred racing at Woodbine. If they can find enough mares to get him a fair start, I
think he has a better chance than first glance would indicate. It's clear his new owners are very excited about getting him so I think he landed at a cool place. He flattened Ken Ramsey once
after a big win, so that makes him a star in my eyes.

Artie’s Princess just won the Bessarabian S (G2) at Woodbine. Bred and owned by the Ramseys, of course.

Had a sinking feeling this would happen.

Artie's Princess (We Miss Artie) just won the G2 Bessarabian.

The Ramseys knew she was pointing at the race, obviously didn't put a reserve on him and sold him for 6k. I don't think it increases his value, she was already his only SW.
