If you completely ignore his action, which no breeder should, his pedigree and race record are good. I mean Game Winner is almost the same. He has bad action, same amount of starts, only he didn't make it back at 4. Watching him come around the final turn in the BC Juvenile is horrible. I linked it right before they switch to the overhead, kind of head-on view and his leg is swings so far out. Its kind of amazing both of them managed 8 starts.

Though rewatching the Met Mile....like I know Vekoma doesn't break down but my heart drops every time I watch it because its so horrific. It looks like he is doing the breaststroke with his front legs and it looks like he is breaking down.

Yep. Got the email from MyRacehorse about an hour ago:
After conferring with majority owner Spendthrift Farm over the past 24 hours, a decision has been made to retire our Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Authentic. The decision to retire a horse of Authentic's caliber is never an easy decision, but we are confident that this represents the best interests of MyRacehorse's 5,314 owners and Spendthrift Farm. The ultimate goal in racing is to have a horse that achieves a level of success on the racetrack that affords him the opportunity to stand at a historic stallion farm, with the potential to shape future generations of the breed through his progeny. Authentic has now earned that, and we as owners, have the rare chance to participate in that journey.

Now that they have Authentic, I doubt Maximus Mischief will be at Spendthrift for much longer.
MM at Spendthrift.
Goldencents at Spendthrift.
Audible at WinStar.
Practical Joke at Coolmore.
Am I missing anyone (in the US)?

I thought maybe because of the uncertain global economy people wouldn't be so quick to immediately retire their colts but $$$

Dolphus has apparently moved to Darby Dan for a private fee.

Golden Horn £20,000 £40,000
That's quite a drop for one of the most attractive horses I've seen, and he's a good outcross from all the Galileo/Sadler's Wells mares out there.
Was his fee too high to begin with? Do his foals look nothing like him?

I don't think it was too high to begin with but so far he's really been lukewarm at stud. He only has one G3 winner and two listed winners so far. It also doesn't help that most Derby winners seem to be considered National Hunt stallions these days.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 5:00 pm Golden Horn £20,000 £40,000
