I don't think its a true lease. The Turkish Jockey Club owns him and is standing him at Lane's End. A lease would be, Lane's End pays X amount to lease him and the Turkish JC only gets that money. I think the TJC is going to get the majority of the money. They'll probably give Lane's End X amount of free breedings for caring for and advertising the stallion.
I think its a great decision on the Turkish Jockey Club's part to keep ownership. They don't buy these stallions to make money in Turkey, they buy them to improve the breed. So you send the stallion back to the US for a couple seasons, make some money, roll that money back into buying new stallions. If he doesn't pan out in the US, you send him back to Turkey. Its a "have your cake and eat it too" scenario.

If that's the case then I'd say WinStar definitely wasn't interested.Flanders wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 8:48 pm I don't think its a true lease. Wow, looks like Adena Springs is getting out of the stallion business. Sending Ghostzapper, Point of Entry, and Mucho Macho Man to Hill N Dale.

Macho Uno only bred 6 mares this year and is 22y. Guessing he will be announced as pensioned soon enough. Silent Name and Silver Max are already in Ontario and guess Shaman Ghost joins them soon.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 9:05 pmThey still have macho uno, silent name, shaman ghost and silver max..and the pensioned awesome againCorridorZ75 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 8:49 pm Wow, looks like Adena Springs is getting out of the stallion business. End times for Adena Springs. Makes me sad. The Kentucky farm has been for sale for a couple years now and they were hoping someone would buy the whole operation but guess that isnt happening.
Assuming Macho Uni is pensioned, do they keep him with his brother in the old stallion barn? Frank is already tight with Old Friends.
I would guess that Shaman Ghost moves to Ontario or is sold, it’s too bad Hill n Dale isnt taking him, poor guy had zero shot to be a sire. I wouldnt be surprised if we hear that the Ontario stallion operation is shuttered as well.
When the leader of the operation gets a new hobby or pet project every 5 years and pours all of his time and money into it, it’s depressing to see the last object of interest get left behind. Thoroughbred breeding, cattle breeding, pig breeding, stallions in florida, stallions in California, stallions in Ontario, golf courses, two year old in training sales, Austrian parliament, Austrian racinos, restaurant chains, grocery chains, pegasus statues, etc. In the litigation between himself and his daughter/grandchildren it was stated that of the $900,000,000 he was given as part of his Magna buyout in 2011, he has spent $800,000,000 of it.

Is North Light at Adena? The last article I can find said he was sent to Lanwades in England for the 2014 breeding season. But he was covering mares in Ontario in 2015 and 2016. And has covered 1 mare in Kentucky in 2017, 39 mares in California in 2018, 2 mares in Kentucky in 2019 and one mare in Kentucky in 2020.

That pedigree is NICE. Great looking horse, decent race record, speed, stamina. 27 starts. Yes, please.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 7:32 pmAt age 5...higher power is just the type of horse I'd breed toFlanders wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 6:39 pm HIgher Power to Darby Dan for 2021.

Journeyman Stud to keep all fees unchanged for 2021. Saying even though they had to turn away mares in 2020 they didn't feel it was right to raise his fee.
