Is Enable offically retired or will she run one more time at keeneland?

Congrats to Sottsass, Jean Claude Rouget and Cristian Demuro for their first Arc victory respectively!
Going was too heavy for the champion Enable? -- Win time was 2:39.30.
She is always the legend.
I was very happy that Persian King (Kingman) ran very well to finish 3rd proving that he can stay even on that soft ground.

Between being bumped and squished, and liking the heavy ground, she was not really competitive in this race.Northport wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 10:15 am Well, she finished 6th. Badly hampered in the stretch by Gold Trip. I can't believe they let Persian King set those crawling fractions, instead of having a proven stayer like Stradivarius go forward and set an honest pace. It turned into a sprint for the last 2f.
I am happy for Peter Brant though, listening to an interview with him this week, he's been in the game for decades, breeding Thunder Gulch, helping launch the stud career of Mr Prospector, among other things. Then he stepped away for twenty something years, now he's back and the Arc has always been a dream race for him to win.
Sottsass, Sistercharlie, and My Sister Nat, all siblings... what a family.

She got body slammed by two different horses at the top of the stretch run and had to check hard. When I saw that, I knew she was done. Losing that much forward momentum in a sit-and-sprint took her out of contention.barbaro111 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 10:56 am

Well done to the winner and that was a very astute ride by the hoop.

Hope the ground is firm for her. Was just wishfully hoping the BCT would be an option, but they've had heavy courses at Keeneland.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

What a fustercluck. Lot of people dropped the ball on this one.
O'Brien issues apology after Mother Earth and Snowfall mix-up in Fillies' Mile
The bet365 Fillies' Mile result faces a significant revision after it emerged that the Aidan O'Brien-trained duo of Mother Earth and Snowfall, who was officially said to have finished third, carried each other's numbers and intended riders.
Snowfall, a 50-1 shot who was supposed to carry the number nine and be ridden by James Doyle, actually carried the number five cloth and was ridden by William Buick. She finished eighth of ten and not third, whereas Mother Earth, an 18-1 shot, was the one who came home in third in the number nine cloth under James Doyle

O’Brien’s week finally got a bit better. St Marks Basilica (Or maybe Wembley? We’ll wait till O’Brien Senior sees the replay) won the Dewhurst in a Ballydoyle 1-2. Joseph O’Brien’s Thunder Moon was third.
The Autumn Stakes was won by Godolphin’s One Ruler (and ATM it looks like Buick was on the right horse).
O’Brien says that he was the one to report the ridiculous mess up yesterday... gotta respect the man for his apology and willingness to own up to the mistake.

Quite a day for the smaller setups at British Champions day so far.
Hollie Doyle’s had a double including her first G1 on Glen Shiel and Archie Watson. Even more impressive she won the stayers and the sprinters back to back! Wonderful Tonight won a first British G1 for David Menusier in the Fillies and Mares with Hollie riding second!
Palace Pier disappointed in the mile, lost a shoe in the race. The Revenant took it for France.
It’s been a great day for the little guys!
Not an Irish winner or an Irish sire on the board and only the Champion Stakes to go...

Video of Hollie Doyle learning she’s won her first group 1, her boyfriend Tom Marquand is in the blue silks in front of her beaming. Love that she looks down to check her number cloth. Between them they won 3 of the 5 races on British Champions Day!
