Would that foal be considered a gray? He looks like a piece of charcoal that has the ash around it, very cool looking foal.

Since neither sire nor dam are grey, the foal can't be grey either. You need at least one grey parent to get a grey offspring.
To me this foal looks like it will be very very dark brown, probably even black as an adult.

These foals are all so amazing! I just want to take a moment and say thank you to all the farms and their connections who are posting pics of these cuties! It's a remarkable thing to be able to see so many of them right after they are born. I'm honoured to be part of them like this! One of the better uses of the internet.
