Yeah that or they get a cut out of whatever he was sold for as a consolation prize.

You don’t really believe that Chrome was sold to make room for Instagrand do you? They were/are priced completely different and Instagrand’s breeding is more commercial.

I’ll Have Another Relocates To Ocean Breeze Ranch In California For 2021
Hmmmmmmmmmm.......
https://www.paulickreport.com/news/bloo ... -for-2021/I'll Have Another, the dual classic winner and champion 3-year-old male of 2012, has been purchased privately by former racing connections J. Paul and Zillah Reddam, and he will stand at their Ocean Breeze Ranch in Bonsail, Calif., for the 2021 breeding season, Daily Racing Form reports.
The 11-year-old son of Flower Alley began his stallion career in Japan, and was brought back to the U.S. to stand in California at Ballena Vista Farm prior to the 2019 breeding season. He was first purchased privately a few months ago by Doug O'Neill, I'll Have Another's trainer during his on-track career, who turned the horse over to the Reddams.
The purchase was done with a bit of urgency over concerns that the stallion might be sent overseas once again.

In terms of I'll Have Another's sale, it's nice that his old connections have him back, hopefully he inherits the small Reddam broodmare band that helped Square Eddie become a top regional stallion. The urgency to avoid a potential overseas sale sounds kind of ominous, are we assuming it would be Korea, Turkey, maybe Saudi Arabia? Somewhere more obscure on the international racing scene than that?

What I find odd, is that it took them 9 days to announce this. These things usually get announced next day or two after a race.

The DRF article says they didn't find the injury until after he returned to Santa Anita. I just don't know when he returned to Santa Anita.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 5:14 pmhttps://www.paulickreport.com/news/bloo ... lanes-end/

He came back the next day or no later than the following. I remember seeing a video of him walking at Santa Anita, and I thought he came back quite fast.Flanders wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 5:24 pm The DRF article says they didn't find the injury until after he returned to Santa Anita. Honor A.P. was given Indy’s old stall...and Honor Code was moved from his stall near his sires to make room for Quality Road.
Does this mean anything? Joe Nevills from TDN did a wonderful article and, when asked, he said that while he’s not sure, he thinks it could be just a move to give the horses a change of scenery.

I think it reflects more on Quality Road being their best current stallion than them *~*giving up*~* on Honor Code. Lane's End doesn't really give up on stallions, do they? Not in the way that Spendthrift or WinStar do, especially when it's a stallion that they've deemed the heir to their patriarch.
As for fee... I think $10,000-$15,000 would make sense? But I also think most stallions are overpriced, even if they get 150+ mares

That’s probably fair, although I guess it depends on what LE has heard from breeders. I think he’ll be more highly regarded than many fans thought of him, though his sire being promising, but unproven, is something to consider.
I edited my post above to add the below:
