Campanelle was a very impressive winner at Deauville!
Wesley Ward really looks like a magic trainer who can glide across the pond.
I wish Japan had such an innovative trainer like him to see more Japanese horses running overseas.

Behemoth won the Memsie(AUS-1). The syndicates racing manager recorded himself watching the race and its pure joy.

Enable was the easiest of winners at Kempton today. Perfect prep.ThreeMustangs wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2020 12:11 am Enable is skipping the Yorkshire Oaks (G1) and will run instead in the September S (G3) at Kempton on the Polytrack as her final Arc prep on 5 September. Just so beautiful. She made everyone gasp with her jump at the start but I don’t think I was the only one near tears at the end <3HB1994 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 10:51 amEnable was the easiest of winners at Kempton today. Love is a great filly but she can have next year’s Arc if she lets Enable have this one!

Relative "outsider" (though still a very nice horse), Persian King, upsets the star studded G1 Prix de Moulin at Longchamp. Pinatubo took a while to get running but once he did the bird had already flown, though he closed nicely to finish 2nd. I'd say Siskin and Romanised were the big disappointments coming out of the race.

That was a fantastic field filled with six MG1SWs!Northport wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 10:47 am Relative "outsider" (though still a very nice horse), Persian King, upsets the star studded G1 Prix de Moulin at Longchamp. As a Kingman fan, I was very glad to see Persian King win.
Now .... how good is Palace Pier?
I guess that the John Gosden-trained 3yo colt is still unbeatable.

So after the first day (?) of the St. Leger festival Doncaster has been ordered to tell attendees to pack it up and go home.
This is like what, the second or third time this has happened in racing? Tracks get told they can open to the public under guidelines then during the event they get hit with the "oh wait no"?

Magical defeated Ghaiyyath in the Irish Champion S (G1).
Champers Elysees won the Matron S (G1). It was Johnny Murtagh’s first G1 win as a trainer. Heavy favorite Fancy Blue was third.
Galileo Chrome won the St. Leger (G1).

I understand from my British friends (and from forums on Tripadvisor) that the U.K. response to the coronavirus has been as inept and inconsistent as ours.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 9:29 am So after the first day (?) of the St. Leger festival Doncaster has been ordered to tell attendees to pack it up and go home.

I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

In the case of Doncaster, the British Horseracing Authority and Doncaster Racecourse was working with the British Federal government to get spectators approved for the festival, bypassing the local Doncaster government. At the end of the day, it was the municipal Doncaster government, specifically their local health minister, who pulled the plug, citing an uptick in local cases in the days leading up to the festival.Diver52 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 12:52 pmI understand from my British friends (and from forums on Tripadvisor) that the U.K. response to the coronavirus has been as inept and inconsistent as ours.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 9:29 am So after the first day (?) of the St. Leger festival Doncaster has been ordered to tell attendees to pack it up and go home.

Re. Magical beating Ghaiyyath... loved that! Interesting to see Seamie Heffernan applying a bit of pressure with her throughout the race, instead of letting Ghaiyyath bowl along by himself, I wonder if that was just enough to take the edge off of Ghaiyyath. Magical is so tough and always shows up. Found is one of my faves since she always had her heart sleeve, and Magical’s a bit like that too, though she’s actually won more G1s.
I think the sheen has thoroughly won off of Japan. I know he was footsore after the King George and was barefoot for 10 days afterwards to help him recover... but where do they go now? Japanese interests bought him with the Arc in mind so is that still the target?

“Aga Khan-ish.” Too funny. I think the shirts are pretty cool, though.
