Will this turn breeders off bolt knowing his half brother got shipped overseas? And it's good to see that Drosselmeyer(who I think sired a good one in jolie olimpica and was another "WinStar castoff" ) seems to be doing really successful at stud in his new country of Brazil being a leading sire
I'd say the bigger concern would be the fact that Bolt D'oro has some pretty violent mental/temperamental issues.

Though tbh breeders don't really seem to care about that much either.
He does? I don't think I've ever heard that. Although I can't say I'm surprised.
He definitely became worse behavior-wise as a stallion. He was not exactly easy to deal with when he was racing either. Seemed to only be good around his groom, but gave everyone else a real hard time.
I wanna do bad things with you.

IIRC, one of the articles says he injured his groom when that person tried help handle him at Spendthrift.
So, not safe around anyone. :(

You are correct. They had issues at Spendthrift so they brought in his racing groom and he was the one who ended up getting the worst injuries.

Legends of War (Scat Daddy) and Tip Two Win (Dark Angel) have been retired to LM Stallions. Legends of War is apparently the first Scat Daddy to stand in England.

War Emblem(USA), as a broodmare sire, has been represented by his first group winner in Australia.

Anders(AUS) [C3. Not A Single Doubt(AUS) x Madame Andree(AUS) by War Emblem(USA)] won the G3 San Domenico Stakes 1100m, at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, on August 29th 2020.

Glamour Stock(JPN)(Sunday Silence), the dam of Madame Andree(AUS), was one of the three mares exported to Australia in foal to War Emblem(USA) in 2008.

I don't think they care about this either. If they did there is a long list of stallions that wouldn't have been bred that were downright dangerous. Halo, Dynaformer, Spinning World, Ribot come to mind. I'm at the moment watching a Youtube video about Northern Dancer and he wasn't nice, unless you were Mrs. Taylor. At one point they said a groom had a permanent scar on his head from ND's shoe and Horatio Luro had to dive under the stall webbing because ND was "intent on doing damage".

I'd imagine it would be a huge headline when they do come in.

I doubt it will ever come out, but it certainly was never coming out before his first yearlings go to market.

Oops...I had forgotten to post this..

Johannesburg(USA)(1999H. by Hennessy) has been retired from stud duty due to substantial decline in fertility rate and pensioned at JBBA Shizunai since last year.
It sounds like he has only one baby born this year (<--- I'm not yet 100% sure about the number)

His 4yo mare Eighteen Girl(JPN)[o/o Center Gran Tasse(JPN) by Agnes Tachyon(JPN)] won the G3 Keeneland Cup 1200m turf at Sapporo on August 30th 2020.

My thoughts are they probably had to send samples to be tested at a lab. The article about his death listed test after test that they performed while he was still alive. If it would have been something they found while performing the necropsy they would have said.
Because I feel there was most likely samples sent to a lab, it could take so long to get these back. Labs are incredibly behind. Look at the article out of Monmouth in mid-August. They hadn't paid purses since the beginning of the meet because the lab that does their drug tests is so far behind.
I would imagine labs have a priority system and doing the tests on samples from a dead horse is probably low priority if they are very far behind. I have faith that they will do a press release when they get the results back whether they figure out what he died from or not.

I don't know how accurate it is, but I'd read somewhere on Facebook that someone said Arrogate was paralyzed and if that's the case poor horse

I saw on another forum someone mentioning his paralysis. Bless his heart.

The articles at the time of his death said he was taken out of stud duty for a suspected sore neck, went down in his stall a few days later and didn't stand again. So yes it was something neurological, but in 4 days they couldn't find any causes, injuries or illnesses.

It is very sad. How awful for him, those last four days.

Having had friends have to remove horses with broken femurs and pelvises from their stalls when they can't stand, my heart goes out to the staff at Juddmonte. It's a horrible and heartbreaking thing to witness and be a part of. Emotionally and physically draining.
