However, that photo was taken at Haras Vacación in Argentina, where he shuttles.

That photographer is really very good. He took my favorite conformation photo of Chrome, while the latter was in Chile.

Timeline (Hard Spun x Azorina, by Empire Maker) enters stud next year at Iowa State University. The MG3W traces back to Courtly Dee and there's a lot of nice stakes horses in his family.

Coolmore has just purchased rising stallion Wootton Bassett, who is a pretty black stout boy.

Here's a video of him arriving the other day - you can run laps in the stalls there, they're enormous!

California Chrome at Arrow Stud. This isn't an official conformation photo, but it was taken in the last day or so when he was shown. He looks really good.
As I write this, so far 12 of Chrome's first crop (2-yr-olds) have raced, with:
--> 2 winners
--> 4 who finished second in their debuts (three losing by a nose) and
--> 2 who finished third in their debuts
That's 67% in the money finishes from his 12 starters to date, and 17% winners. So far, they have hit the board in the slop, on turf, dirt and synthetic, at distances up to one mile, and at tracks from Delaware Park to Del Mar, to Golden Gate and even to Japan (where one of his fillies finished 3rd in her debut). This is a promising start, but they have all only run in maiden races so far. So it will be interesting to see how they do as they move up the class ladder.
The colt who lost his debut by a slim nose going a mile on the turf at Del Mar, lost to a more experienced horse. The Chrome colt, name Heliochrome, is co-owned by Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens who was absolutely thrilled by the colt's race. The filly who finished 3rd in her debut a few days ago in Japan is named Cal Fragrance. She is owned by Shadai and is out of Right There by Eskendereya. Although Chrome is not standing at Shadai, they are supporting him. The fact that Chrome now has two youngsters who have hit the board on turf should be encouraging to his Japanese syndicate.

Charming Kitten is pretty, though I wish their photo was a bit clearer. The Calculator photo was also a little blurry.

That's a very pretty pony. And that's how you pose a stallion.

Not a wholesome trottin' race, no, but a race where they sit down right on the horse!
Like to see some stuck-up jockey boy sittin' on Dan Patch? Make your blood boil? Well, I should say!
