It's "pending further investigation," but one would assume that evidence of a horse being given performance enhancers and masking agents would supersede test results, given that the entire point of masking agents is to produce negative tests. But regardless of the final decision, it's nice to see a little bit of consequence in the sport.
(It's also nice to see peep back! Hi peep!)

Anybody preaching that Max was never juiced is living in la la land.
Yes I'm sure Max was the only horse in the stable that didn't get needled.

You mean they don't have due process over in Saudi Arabia? Who knew.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but bringing a horse over to a country that murdered ( and dismembered ) a journalist who had opposing views barely a year earlier ( not that there should be a time period that would make that acceptable....at least to me ) is not a decision I would make if I happened to own a racehorse. Subsequently, I have trouble drumming up sympathy for anyone that did and then doesn't like how it worked out for them.
That's also ignoring human rights abuses. That would be an issue for me as well.

I agree, but neither of us were faced with that decision. Easy call to make sitting on sidelines. I'm sure you would feel the same had Chad Brown sent horses, yes?thinair wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 5:25 pm You mean they don't have due process over in Saudi Arabia? Who knew.

What TA said.
Max's owners ignored those issues and gambled that it was worth it for the huge purse.
They lost; they now have neither their integrity nor the money.

Whataboutism is tiring. Chad isn't an owner.
I don't feel bad for a guy like Gary West.

I'm confident he'll be heartbroken at hearing your news.
What about the other listed owners......Gary L & Mary E West, Mrs J Magnier, M Tabor & D Smith
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

I'm glad you're sure....I mean, I hope you weren't being snide, especially given you don't know me at all.BallyAche60 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 5:46 pm

Okay, on Som's recommendation, whataboutism is so tiring....let's be real....thinair wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 6:28 pmI'm glad you're sure....I mean, I hope you weren't being snide, especially given you don't know me at all.BallyAche60 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 5:46 pm

How about Bill Mott, he had Tacitus there for his owners.
Or Asmussen had Midnight Bisou there for his owners.
Or Aidan O'Brien had Magic Wand in there for his owners.
All irresponsible decisons, caveat emptor!?

If only there was some sort of report prepared by an investigative bureau that detailed how Maximum Security, specifically, was drugged and then that drugging was covered up. Alas, wherever could we find such a thing...
Also yes, Saudi Arabia sucks. I suppose it's kind of karmically satisfying that the integrity of their big race was torpedoed by Servis and the Wests, who in turn got nothing out of it. A scenario in which having no winners is in itself a bit of a win.

You are quite mistaken. I do know you. I have been involved in racing for quite awhile and much of it in NY. You are not just a NYRA employee, but quite a shill. Your PR persona may work on others, but not those who have been around you on a daily basis. Hide behind your social media if you will. I respect your views on Saudi Arabian policies & atrocities, and your love of this game. Not much else.thinair wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 6:28 pmI'm glad you're sure....I mean, I hope you weren't being snide, especially given you don't know me at all.BallyAche60 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 5:46 pm
