Sambam, a 3yo by AP x G1 winner Marylebone, by UBS, finished a good third in his debut at Parx after breaking very slowly. Alas, it was a MCL $10,000. Apparently he was claimed.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

That headline gave me some serious flashbacks to when Summer Bird, "the other bird" won the Belmont in 09. :D

Racing fans in Japan were saying the same kind of thing when ''Pharaoh'' won it.
Old Japanese fans must have remembered Hokuto Vega(JPN), a longshot filly, upsetting to win the G1 QE2 Cup defeating the favorite Vega(JPN) who was aiming to complete the fillies Triple Crown in 1993.
The racecaller put it ''It's not Vega, but Hokuto Vega!!''

Yikes, that could have been bad. Glad everyone's okay! Did she run so erratically because the saddle slipped or did the saddle slip because of her erratic running? Hard to tell. 0.0

Sweet Melania is entered in the Gr.3 Lake George at Saratoga today.

Himiko (half to Bodemeister) will try again to break her maiden at Del Mar going 1 mile on the dirt.

Maven finished 6th in his second start Stateside (Mahony Stakes at Saratoga on 8/26/2020) after an awkward break. Looks like he broke a bit sideways then bumped the horse next to him.

The first Southern Hemisphere AP trialled today in New Zealand and was very impressive. A barrier trial is basically a practice race where they jump from the gates in a group and run

Glad he returned to the winner's circle after his bizarre defeat in the Japan Dirt Derby. :D
Didn't he like that NAR track (or right-handed, or night race) last time out?
