I wouldn't worry. He has a G1 winner and Lane's End has already signed that one up for stud duty. They aren't going to give up on him. Don't forget Mineshaft didn't get off to a good start at all, but he eventually got over the hump and he's still there.

Lanes End also doesn’t rush their stallions off if they don’t get a champion from their first crop. Lanes End likes to talk about their “stallion making formula” and from what I can tell, one of their big ingredients is patience

Right, and he's done very well actually.....My concern isn't how Honor Code is doing (I'm really happy with him; he sires long-winded, late developing types and has actually had several turf winners, including a fave of mine, Bama Breeze. I'd like to see him do well at the sales, but that might not happen despite how well regarded he was going to stud unless he starts siring a couple of pre-September good 2 year olds. Still, ultimately, who cares about sales prices if the results on track are good? Of course it's early - and if Will Farish isn't worried about sales prices (TDN article on Honor A.P. made it clear that he's not) why should I be? I'm a worrier at heart, so.....I will worry even when it's not necessary, lol.

Good old Mineshaft - I can't believe he's 20 years old. You're right, he got off to a very slow start, but he's become a really solid sire.
