I'm weirdly disappointed by how many outstanding mares Justify has received despite the controversy surrounding him rn... idk, I just have a hard time backing him. I know he's got Scat Daddy on his side, but I would rather send a mare to Mendelssohn; he's got the better pedigree too, imo.

They didn't pay $75 million for Mendelssohn. They are going to do everything in their power to make Justify because he cost so much.

Goodness, I guess we'll have to wait and see until they announce how many mares went to each stallion, but I'm only counting 45 to War Front so far. Most of the usual repeat mares he gets have gone to Justify, American Pharaoh, or Mendelssohn instead.

Unfortunately, I think Coolmore has gone off War Front a bit.

I think the *~*truce*~* between Coolmore and Godolphin has led to them sending more mares to Dubawi in the last few years. They also started sending mares to Japan, though now that Deep Impact has passed I think that will all but stop. Plus having two American Triple Crown winners in house that need to get their careers off the ground are pretty much ready made outcrosses for Galileo. Though I am predicting that Found goes back to War Front in 2021... call it a hunch.

I also agree that it seems like Coolmore has sent more of their top turf mares to Justify. I think they're just more eager to get an heir to Scat Daddy than to Pioneerof The Nile. No Nay Never had a great year last year with his fee septupling in two years, but he's cooled off big time in 2020 - he's only had one group winner, No Nay Lady at Monmouth, plus Wichita placing in two G1s, and Moss Gill winning a listed contest two weeks ago.

Aidan O'Brien isn't shy about racing his 2nd or lower string horses anywhere from 2-4 times a month as two and three year olds, especially if they haven't broken their maidens. Here's hoping that those Galileo mares can add some toughness and durability to their Justify progeny, because they'll need it.

I always forget about Cavorting, but she was one tough mare. Her 2018 Curlin filly has been named Clairiere, btw. Just workedout at Churchill Downs last Monday.
