You're in luck, because she has a yearling colt by him.

No, she wasn't going to let him by her - truly a remarkable performance; I think that race is underrated. It's truly a shame that she got injured - she would have been a fantastic older mare.luvsgeldings wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 6:18 pm slewfan.... i know what you mean - i watch a replay of that Rags Belmont a couple of times a year - we saw her run here in SoCal and when she ran in KY and NY we were cheering for her like crazy - but that Belmont.... its not just that she went down to her nose at the start - but she was wide on both turns - very wide on the home turn - and then... after all of this, she still had to duel with Curlin down the stretch - and she was just not going to let him get by her - it was an amazing performance of guts and stamina on her part - such heart, she was so brave - she ran well over 1 1/2 that day - a beautiful race that i enjoy watching again and again too!!

Photographed last week here at Saratoga, unnamed 2-year-old colts by Liam's Map-Receipt (left) and Tapit-Rags to Riches (rail).
This very nicely-bred duo is in training at Saratoga with trainer Todd Pletcher.

Wow, the rider earned his pay on this one. Like Mom, like daughter.

The freak show, from the final corner:
2yo filly 15. REFRAME (American Pharoah x Careless Jewel (Tapit)) winning the 1600m (Turf) 2yo Newcomers at Niigata in bizzarre fashion, if they can ever control her she will be some horse...... #wowser

Wow!
But it was a scary at the same time...
Both her trainer Yoichi Kuroiwa and her jockey Takuya Kowata looked pale after the race.
JRA's steward announced that Reframe(USA) would undergo an aptitude re-examination after August 17th.

The saddle slipped a lot. I'm wondering if that was why she ran like that. I mean it was her first race, the saddle was pretty much on her side by the end of the race. I think maybe we shouldn't judge her much for what happened here.
When she really swerves out in the stretch the jockey is kneeling on her back because the saddle wasn't there. Even a seasoned horse wouldn't have ran normal here.

As trainer Yoichi Kuroiwa commented after the race, she was showing her habit of veering out (to the right) during her final workout before the race.

And today she showed that habit again even before the race when she started cantering after the post parade.

Saddle slipped because of her moves during the race after all.
Let's hope her trainer will successfully adjust her habit before August 17 when JRA steward's re-examination takes place.
She reminds me of Chicquita.

Wow her mare Careless Jewel super quircky as well. In the Alabama i thought she was HTB so i was going to target her and follow her in the race, when we got on track she threw Landry like 3 times. I said switching tactics she’s toast. Gate open she ran off and won by 11. freaky
