Thanks for sharing your notes, Northport. Looks like this year's edition is wide open so I'm very excited to watch it tomorrow morning.

Sky Defender (Farhh) won the Investec Handicap at 22-1.

Wargrave refused to go in the gate so they started without him. The commentators talked like there was a time limit for this. Do we do this in North America? I've never noticed this before if we have.

That was extremely impressive from Love. I’m not a fan of Coolmore but they’ve got a special filly on their hands.

Fastest Oaks ever. Love broke Enable’s stakes record by .07 seconds. I would love to see them race each other later this year

I think they are going to switch back to it at half past, after this next race which is the Princess Elizabeth. The Derby is at 4:55pm local time, so 55 past whatever hour it is for you now.

Love is now a 4/1 fav ahead of 9/2 Enable for the Arc with BetVictor.

Wouldn't that be something?
Serpentine - "is there on his merits" aka will be the pacemaker

Coolmore wins again but this is cool.

Wtf were the other jockeys doing??? Runs away from them early on and just doesn’t let them get close, he ran them off their feet!

Kameko might have nabbed 3rd, English King was 5th.

Khalifa Sat was 2nd.

maybe its just me..... but Serpentine actually looked like he was running happy! he still looks a little green - but man, he was running with joyful abandon - and seemed to be loving his job - very impressive - very cool horse - love him!!

I kept waiting and waiting for Serpentine to call it quits and come back to the field. Guess nobody told him he was only supposed to be the pacemaker. Bet the other jocks would like to have a do-over on that one.

Well he set the pace alright! hot damn. Seems like Emmet McNamara and Tom Marquand were the only judges of pace on the day. Reminds me a lot of Sovereign’s win in last year’s Irish Derby.

I feel like we learned nothing about the rest of the field in terms of talent or staying ability, but I won’t say that it wasn’t an entertaining Derby!

Serpentine was 25/1, Khalifa Sat, a 50-1 shot, was second with 66-1 chance Amhran Na Bhfiann third.

Whoever had that Trifecta, please step forward!

If we don't have something like that, we probably should. It's an ugly black eye for racing when a horse has to be forced in relentlessly only to break down during the race. (And yes, I do know that doesn't always happen.)
