Oisin Murphy explains how he won his first British Classic with Kameko. 8-)

https://twitter.com/Qatar_Racing/status ... 0074947585

And Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani explained Kameko's name had Japanese origins meaning turtle.
But he was obviously no turtle.

Anyway, I'm sure that many Japanese fans will cheer for Oisin and Kameko in the Derby!
It looks like Oisin Murphy is loved by everyone. ;)

Globetrotting Magic Wand returns to action tomorrow in the Group 2 Lanwades Stud Stakes at the Curragh over a mile. I'm not sure how many other horses have covered as many miles as she has in 11 months ever.

Where she raced, not including trips home to Ireland between races

Dubai --> New York --> England --> Ireland --> England --> Chicago --> Ireland --> Australia (raced 3 times there) --> Hong Kong --> Florida --> Saudi Arabia.

Siskin was a smashing winner and remains unbeaten in five starts. I also have to imagine blue-blooded Vatican City will be a group I winner by year's end, especially at longer distances.

Magic Wand was an easy (4 1/2 length) winner.

Magic Wand has been a bit unlucky, I think, to have been the runner-up in so many group I stakes. She's not even a miler but is so good she won easily anyway.

It would be kinda neat if the Epsom Derby came down to a battle between English King and Russian Emperor.

The Irish Derby (G1) is tomorrow. Of the 15 horses entered, 10 are trained by O’Briens: six for Aidan, three for Joseph, and one for Donnacha.

I hope Crossfirehurricane wins because 1. Kitten's Joy and 2. his name sound really cool. My brother loves Rolling Stones but I just like the sound of it.

O'Brien goes 1-4 (yawn) again as Santiago wins the Irish Derby over Tiger Moth.

Crossfirehurricane had a bad start and never had a chance.

It looked like someone pulled up late and the rider was about to jump off. :(
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Sherpa broke his right hind turning into the home stretch. No word yet but I am assuming he will be euthanized, it looked like a brutal injury.

He was trained by Donnacha, but Aidan O’Brien also lost Year of the Tiger a couple weeks ago in the Guineas Trial at Leopardstown, another pretty gory injury in the home stretch
