Just saw this on Bloodhorse: Pleasantly Perfect has died.
https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing ... rkey-at-22
This one hits me kind of hard. I loved this guy an awful lot. I'll never forget Tom Durkin saying, when he crossed the wire in the 2003 BC Classic, "Man O Mandella of a Day!"
He was one of the relatively few quintessential 10f dirt horses seen in the relatively recent past. Funny thing is that his two GI winners in this country before going to Turkey were a dirt-sprinting colt (Whitmore), and a turf-routing filly (Shared Account).
Rest in peace, Pleasantly Perfect. You were a good boy.

Fun fact of the day: Curlin is the sire of 100% winners to runners in Japan to date (15/15). Cool stuff.

Not gonna lie, I totally lost track of Oratorio. Didn't even notice that he was in South Africa for a couple years before going on to Australia.

That is the wrong Oratorio. Oratorio (IRE) (Danehill) did stand 7 seasons in Australia (I want to say Coolmore but i dont know) and after breeding 50 or so mares in 2012 was exported to South Africa in Jan 2013. The other Oratorio (AUS) (Stravinsky) is a year older has sired 16 stakeswinners and has been in Western Australia for most of that time.

I feel sorry for Arrogate and Empire Maker, but not Juddmonte. They'll have other stallions down the road.TwilightTear wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 11:32 am Oh, no. Poor Juddmonte. Empire Maker and now Arrogate.

I was thinking more of the farm collectively, especially the employees who cared for Empire Maker and Arrogate. Lane's End has Candy Ride, Quality Road, etc. Doesn't mean it didn't hurt everyone to lose A.P. Bleep off, Win Star. I’m so
There are so few AP Indy sons left, Commissioner is off to a promising start, and they sell this guy because they don’t give a crap ..they’re the same idiots who sold Take Charge Indy, except Commissioner won’t return home.
I don’t ever want a colt I root for to ever be owned by Win Star.

With her win in the Irish 1000 Guineas, Peaceful becomes the 85th G1 winner for Galileo, breaking the tie for the lead with Danehill.
