I know I say it almost every year, but I can't believe that Buena Vista, Special Week & King K haven't been inducted yet. It's astounding.

1st. Abu Dhabi(BRZ) C3. Agnes Gold(JPN) x Fugazi(BRZ) by Crimson Tide(IRE)
2nd. He's Gold(BRZ) C3. Agnes Gold(JPN) x Lady Carol(BRZ) by Our Captain Willie(USA)
3rd. Hummer(BRZ) C3. Put it Back(USA) x Vanua Levu(BRZ) by Wild Event(USA)

Good for Agnes Gold!!!
I know that South American countries are sometimes considered the destination for shuttle stallions or stallions that weren't popular in the Northern Hemisphere... But I think these countries also hold valuable reserves of bloodlines that need to be protected and may make a comeback one day. You mentioned Bal A Bali, for example. I'd love to see his sireline re-establish itself in the U.S.

I had the same thoughts for Einstein/Spend a Buck. Hopefully Bal a Bali does better than my boy Einstein did at stud.
Soylent green is....tasty!!!

Bal a Bali was the darling of TBC when he arrived in the states and kept on doing super, wasn't he? :D
I remember there was a thread for him of course.
Time really flies and I sometimes miss those days.
Now I hope Bal a Bali will do well at stud, too! :D

Ivar is running again today at Churchill Downs in Race 9, a 1 1/16 mile AOC on the turf. Joe Talamo rides.

ETA: Ivar won gate-to-wire and was at odds of 14-1. I think he won by 2 1/2 lengths.

I saw Ivar's race and was very impressed. He led from the start and got swarmed at the top of the stretch; I thought for sure he was going to finish off the board. But then he surged again and pulled away decisively.

I saw the replay.
The announcer called him an upset winner and I saw his odds.
----> Ah well, he was a 14/1.
Well done Ivar! :D

A very exciting finish for sure. They don't come any more blue-blooded than Fancy Blue.

Coolmore's support of Deep Impact rewarded once again with Fancy Blue

I know he has no North American G1 winners, but Silent Name has really carved out a living as a consistently good source of Canadian bred horses. Mostly restricted or listed winners, with the odd G2 or G3 winner peppered in, but as a fellow Ontario resident (who one day would like to own a broodmare or two), he’d be an obvious candidate.

Silent Name has also sired quite a few G1-placed horses, namely Silentio, who is now a stallion in Texas somewhere. He has been at Keen Farms and Double Infinity Ranch, but not sure where he is now.

That's devastating news.
It's the end of an era, to me.
Hat Trick(JPN) was the only G1 winning son of Sunday Silence(USA) standing permanently outside of Japan.
R.I.P. beautiful boy, one of the best sons of Sunday Silence.
