Makes me sad when they leave the country, but I hope he does well for them down there.MTO wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 12:17 pm Son of Hard Spun:

I think Horse Greeley stands at the same farm.

First Defence has a stakes named after him and Hard Spun doesn't? Hard Spun did more and also beat him in the King's Bishop. That is aggravating. Okay, rant over.

Hard Not To Love entered in the Santa Maria Stakes next Sunday May 31. This is at 1 1/16 miles. She will up against CeCe again. I bet they ditch that front running tactic they tried last time.

Hidden Scroll entered in a grass AOC at Belmont on Wednesday. Maybe this will be good for him, but I hope they aren't doing it because of his performance at Oaklawn. That track is anathema for Hard Spun babies. Was for Hard Spun, too.

My guess is that GREEN LIGHT GO might be pointed to G1 7 furlong Woody Stephens at Belmont on June 20, 2020. Nominations aren't posted yet.
He worked at Belmont this morning, 5/30/2020 which is first work since arriving from S Florida.
This would be 5 weeks since his last race which was 6.5 furlongs and his highest speed lifetime speed figure, after a 3.5 month layoff. This race would be 2nd race off a 3.5 month layoff so he might improve.
Mischevious Alex is pointed to the Woody Stephens and already beat Green Light Go by many lengths in the Feb 1, 2020 Swale Stakes. Mischevious Alex won his last 3 races, all stakes, and has better speed figures. GREEN LIGHT GO would need to improve to beat Mischevious Alex, or have some racing luck.

I keep waiting for GLG to improve. Hard Spuns usually do improve some with age. Hoping he will, too. I wonder if he has had some physical issues that have held him back. Layoff could suggest that. If so, hope they are behind him.MTO wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 11:34 am My guess is that GREEN LIGHT GO might be pointed to G1 7 furlong Woody Stephens at Belmont on June 20, 2020. GREEN LIGHT GO had a fever at the end of February. He was then pointed to the April 4, 2020 Grade 3 Bayshore at Aqueduct, which was cancelled due to Covid.Happy Endings wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 4:46 pmI keep waiting for GLG to improve. Green Light Go’s next scheduled start, the 1 1/16-mile Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park on February 29, was nixed when he spiked a fever just days before the event. Jerkens gave the colt time

Just read that Rocketry's entry in the Tiller Stakes is for Main Track Only. So it is questionable that he will actually run.

She ran well considering how upset she was before the race. Clearly, they are still figuring her out. I hope from now on they know to always have her led by someone on foot rather than a pony. That definitely did not work for her. She still closed really well into a very moderate pace, finished ahead of CeCe and lost to a horse who had it easy on the front end. She's got a lot of heart.Calypso wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 9:13 pm Hard Not To Love finished 2nd by 3.25 lengths in the Gr.2 Santa Maria today.

Hidden Scroll "grabbed a quarter" and unseated his rider at the start in Race 8 at Belmont Park (6/3/2020).
He continued to run and even led by several lengths for a portion of the race. As weird as it sounds, he seemed to like the surface and was full of run.
